Best Rangefinder VALUE

I have been using a digital tape measure. They aren't nearly as good as a decent range finder but they are considerably cheaper. Mine cost $40 and accurately measures distances up to (and probably beyond) 100 yards which is as far as I ever shoot. You just point the laser dot at something and it tells you how far away it is. They work very well in forests or other medium to low light environments. If you shoot in large open spaces then you might struggle to see the red dot on a sunny day.

From on what I have seen, the range finders made for golfers are also cheaper than the shooting ones. Again, they probably aren't as good but you cover shorter distances with air rifles so maybe you don't need to spend a lot of you don't want to.

Just how far do you need to range? If shooting 2-300+ yards, yes a regular range finder - have a friend with a Simmons that works well for under $100 - if shooting only to say 100 yards, I really like th 40x AEON side focus scope. Ranges just fine, mark your side wheel, heck get a oversized "knob of death" for the elevation and you have fast ranging and adjustment easier & faster than using a range finder.
If shooting WAY out there, well the scope does work but the range marks are just to close together for really precise ranging/shots.

Keep it simple.

Been looking for a rangefinder myself, cabala's has a pretty nice deal right now, you basically get a free pair of binoculars with the rangefinder. Check it out!

They also have a range finder for 75$ and a 30$ MIR $45 is a great value.

I can't speak for the quality but as far as deals go, these are the best I've found.

I have a Leica 1600 and 3 years ago I forgot it going prong horn and mule deer hunting...So I stopped at a Sporting Goods Store and Bought a Bushnell... G Force I believe is the model name...The Leica is now in my gun safe, this Bushnell is by far superior and the company is just great to deal with...

I got tangled in heavy brush country and the thing fell like 10-15 ft. on top of solid rocks on the river bed and then rolled down a few more feet...Well, It kept on working fine but I started having reading issues just in wet environments and after the hunting trip I sent it back for repair explaining what the problem was and how it originated (no need for explanations, it was all banged up)...

No questions asked Bushnell sent me a BRAND NEW unit in the box with a handwritten message: "We love to see our products in the condition we received yours, that means that it has been used well...ENJOY YOUR NEW RANGEFINDER...and they even paid for shipping!...

Other than a similar experience with Leupold, I have never been so pleased with any manufacturer.

Merry Christmas to all members,
