N/A Best value PCP?

I think the answer to that question depends on the person wanting to buy the airgun. If you are not mechanically inclined you may find the answer will be different than for someone who can repair, or modify any airgun as required.

For me, the best value airgun has been my Reximex Lyra. The rifle had a number of issues I needed to repair/modify when I got it. But, once I got the rifle all sorted it shoots with such precision at 50yds it's nearly unbelievable!

The air rifle I have had the most trouble with is my Uragan 2. The Uragan 3 has redesigned ALL of the areas that are proven problematic in the U2. I hope the new U3 will be as 'bullet proof' as the Vulcan 3. Time will tell.
Reximex puts a LOT of gun out for great prices. The top of the line Meta Premium is less than $900

A friend has a Reximex Throne 2. 50 yards and putting pellets through the same hole. Likes the JSB 25.39 at around 825FPS. A little heavy but nowhere near what I have done to my Hatsan semiautos.

If i didn't have a Snowpeak Max 1 on pre-order it probably buy a Throne or Meta.

To get an answer that you can actually use, or to give advice to another, you really have to know the individual that you are listening/talking to. You get what you pay for with free advice. Just be observant for yourself, and answer questions that you know the answer to, if asked. If you suggest anything you will hear about it later if they have issues, just like you would be pissed if someone steers you wrong. Your best value gun is going to be as different as people are themselves.

Like others have stated “best value” will be very user and use dependent. For me “best value” is the PCP, I reach for the most. Currently that’s my Pathfinder XR. Or, any PCP I have owned and would buy again like my Artemis pp700sa and my BRK Compatto, both were outsize arse kickers for me… lots.of pests downed with both.

So far for long range my V3 in 25 cal.
1.1" is fairly common at 100Y using 60gr Altaros slugs with a .245 G1 BC. The gun and ammo combo is amazing because it hits hard and blows in the wind substantially less than 22rf. The best thing is no problems at all since I got it more than a year ago. It's done all and more than I've expected out of it and I'm a picky guy. It's a serious tool!

I have zero experience with the least expensive pcp options out there so I couldn't say one way or another but I don't want to be fixing stuff or sending it back for repair, or tolerating constant POI shifts, that's for sure.

$390 no repairs, no poi shifts, no sending back. Add in $445 over a year ago with one minor cross threaded screw. Or $305 since Christmas and the squirrels are dying in droves (my nephew).

All Niksan rifles.

Then my $100 reclamation project AirForce Talon SS. punches WAY above its weight class.

Or my Hatsan and AEA semi auto that I'm supposed to have zero reliability. Shot 100 rounds through the Bullmaster yesterday. No problems and a 1" hole in the target out a 45 yards.

Guess I'm just lucky that none of the horror stories told about my guns even approach the reality of my guns.

Guns I see complained about most for POI shift are FX.

Zelos and BARRA 250Z, amazing accuracy under $500 bucks, easy to shoot a variety of ammo, 1/2" groups at 50 yards and 3/4'-1" groups at 100 yards
I get the impression that a lot of the people who buy the high end guns HAVE to justify spending 3-5 times as much as they should. All to get a 1/4 inch tighter grouping. Their perogative but the unwarranted and constant dissing of much lower price guns gets annoying. Especially by the ones that have never shot let alone owned Zelos, Snowpeak, Niksan etc.

Budget guns always have something i dislike, heavy, crap trigger, ergonomics, just ugly. Plenty of things, I cut my teeth on Kral, Reximex, Evanix and Hatsan, but once you go first class you cant go back. You can but it is hard. I did just purchase a Kuzey K300 from @thammer he is an excellent tuner and machinist, so this will have his touch on it. Oit of the box,no thx. I just dont have the time to fiddle with things lile i did a few years ago either. I would rather be able to grab it and do what i want, knowimg it feels good to shoulder, has a great teigger, doesnt feel cheaply made. Plus i only keep a few on hand, i shoot them and each has a purpose, no collecting a bunch to sit around here.if you are happy with the results you get good for you, i just like it to be easier to get those results. Current rifles are Edgun Leshiy2 .25, Fx dreamline .177, FX impact m3 .25 and a Kuzey K300 .22 comimg soon. The M3 will probably be moving on due to not have 2 in the same caliber. The L2 is very hard to beat with great trigger, 8lbs loaded, good power, semi compact, removeable mags, very easy to work with parts easily available and very quiet.

totally agree. it is the gun you grab first when deciding to shoot on a whim.

What would you vote as the best airgun that you get the most out of it for the money?

Seems anymore PCPs are just getting more and more expensive. What used to be top of the line when i got in this sport a decade ago was like $1700-$1800 and good mid priced was around $1000. Now it seems mid proced PCPs are $1700-$1800 and your top of the line are $3000+.

Personally I think guns like the Taipan Vet2, Uragan 2, Vulcan 3 and BRK Safari are some of your best bang for the buck guns out there today. They seem to perform 95% of the way of those high end guns do but without the bells and whistles and for decent prices still.
I'd like add my FX Royale 500 & Boss to that list! They were seen at virtually all competitions a decade ago & still shoot as great as ever.

i just cannot justify spending more than 1300$ for an airgun. i can get a nice PB with that kind of money.

i know people that have high end airguns and they dont even use them for what they’re designed to be able to do just because they don’t have a place to really push the guns capability. it makes me think of people buying the newest iphones and only using it for texting, internet and youtube. these iphones nowadays have LIDAR and people don’t even know what that technology is.

Primary objective being value, yes, the Taipan Veteran.

One of few airguns, at any price, that has a barrel threaded into the receiver.

One of few airguns, at any price, that has an anti-double-feed feature.

Solid (real) barrels.

One of the better airgun triggers, again, at any price.

One of the better magazine systems of any airgun, at any price. And it comes with two, not the standard one.

Comes with an anodized single shot tray. Yep, you'll be paying extra for a single shot tray from most other options.

Factory shroud/moderator is plenty for hushing. Most other options REQUIRE an extra spend for a moderator. Yet the Vets shroud has air stripping cones (aluminum none the less) that actually minimize the report.

20moa rail as standard. Gotta pay more for an aftermarket add-on here, with some guns.

I look at it this was. What is the cheapest gun that can meet your needs?
*price
*accuracy
*comfort

If we use those criteria, then the Avenger is hard to beat. The trigger can be tuned very well. The one I shot was a laser. Very comfortable to hold and shoot. Decent shot count. It even has some great features, external reg adjustment. Ability to adjust the hammer tension. Threaded for moderator. Chrony consistency numbers that some expensive Daystates can't match. Plenty of power.
All this for less than $400, try to beat that.

Do i have one? No i like other airguns more, but for the money, theres no denying, they are great value.
