N/A Best value PCP?

My take on this is a little different.
The best budget rifle is one you WANT TO USE everyday
Let's say you buy a 2k rifle and shoot it once a week ...comes out to be around $38.47 a week
If shot 3 times a week =$16.53 ...everyday = $5.48

buy a cheap rifle that you never want to use..well that math is easy.

Doesn't matter how expensive the rifle is ...what matters is how often it is used
You can have a budget rifle @$500 but if you only shoot it once a month = 41.67

Mike
So, what do you do with it at the end of that year? Throw it away? J/King of course.
I shoot all my guns eventually.. if it's one I don't like I sell it or trade it for something else.

I only have one out of the more than a dozen I don't like. And that is because I broke it and turned a semi auto into a bolt action. And yeah, I've moved on from some and I sold them before they became safe queens. Gauntlet .25, Flash .22 most recently. Niksan Escalade and Ozark replaced them. The hardware at the low price end just keeps getting better, ie the Niksans, and upgrading doesn't cost much.

And I have 5 rifles under $400 and a couple more under $500. I shot 4 of them yesterday and 1 on Friday. How's the math on that?

Your math is both ridiculous and insulting. Your premise is that because you overpay for your guns that anyone who does not overpay is unhappy with their rifle and just leaves it to rust.

Feel free to find anyone in this thread vouching for low cost rifles that actually follows your ridiculous premise.

I am sure there are plenty of the gun snobs who won't deign to sully their precious trigger fingers on the gun that got them into PCP anymore.

But those of us that can identify value always shoot our rifles.
did you miss the part where i said it doesn't matter how much the rifle costs?

I'm a creature of variety.. there are 100 or so airguns around here. Never paid more that $400 on any one of them and most much lower.
Sure, I could have saved all that money and bought some higher end guns but let me say this.. I have enjoyed the past dozen or years with the airgun experience than maybe anything I've done long term in my life. And it begin with a Walmart Daisy 880 from a mid isle bargain pallet.

I probably have much less invested in my 4 than you have in your dozen budget guns.
Okay, remind me again, which is more 12 or 4?

Are any of your 4 an A. H. Hartley Stalker Tiger Ten with a grade 2 hand finished black walnut stock?

Or a pristine Shin Sung Career II 707?

Maybe a Falcon Hawk FN-19?

Hunting Master AR6 .22 pistol with a beautiful wood stock that can fire a 15gr pellet almost 1000FPS?

I don't just have low cost guns, I also have guns that are almost works of art. Something none of your 4 will ever be.

I also have some guns I've paid over $1000 for, FX Bobcat and AEA Terminator. Bobcat because it is still one of the finest air rifles ever built and doesnt need all the geegaws and whizbang options to do it. The Terminator because HOLEE SHEET it is a semi auto monster.

Couple I have because I tossed a low ball bid on Gunbroker.com and won.

But my basic shooters I've purchased from dealers, all low cost, and do everything I need them to do.

What ever will I do if I don't have a rifle that can do 1/4 inch groups at 50 yards? I guess I will suffer and be distraught because my groups are only 1/2 inch. Which I'm having a very good day if that happens. Given I'm old, shaky and my eyesight sucks.

So, yeah, I need to spend $2000+ on a gun that exceeds my current physical limitations.

I don’t see any reason to be insulted but that’s your provocative! Nothing wrong with good and cheap. Nothing wrong with good and expensive either.

What would you vote as the best airgun that you get the most out of it for the money?

Seems anymore PCPs are just getting more and more expensive. What used to be top of the line when i got in this sport a decade ago was like $1700-$1800 and good mid priced was around $1000. Now it seems mid proced PCPs are $1700-$1800 and your top of the line are $3000+.

Personally I think guns like the Taipan Vet2, Uragan 2, Vulcan 3 and BRK Safari are some of your best bang for the buck guns out there today. They seem to perform 95% of the way of those high end guns do but without the bells and whistles and for decent prices still.
That uragan 2 compact in red laminate is on my short list. I've been parting with most of my stuff again. I dunno if it's winter downtime or the fact I have 3 sets of new neighbors that haven't seen me shooting yet, but im going the lower power/quiet as can be route now.

I don't need firearm power in an airgun, especially in a residential area. I shoot safe, but loud is loud.

Never spend $2000 on any gun, but thx for assuming. You are naming all rifles i have had and at some point couldnt stand. Lmao,
I hear that. I was able to find faults with my regal and revere. 25 regal was too low of power and shot count, and both were too long with a moderator for my liking. If the revere came baffled at its standard 36" Length, it would be my go to gun i think.

Krale has many AGT guns on sale right now, fyi.

Didn't say you did.
How much for FX Impact or Daystate xxxWolf? Backyard shooters spending $2000+ for a competition level rifle. Sure they can post pictures of those 1/4 groups. $1500 guns too.

What is the cost of a $390 daily shooter making 1/2 inch groups vs a $1500/$2500 daily shooter making 1/4 inch groups?

How does your math work for real scenarios?

Fx Dreamline or Drs classic are as accurate as the 3000+airguns for 1/3 the price.

Regards Marko
Doubtless the FX DRS classic 600 with the ultra powerful plenum.

You get a 50 fpe .22 Cal with the very best accuracy with slugs at 200 yards you can get.

You just need to buy an Eagle Vision magazine, because the one from factory is poorly made (but works).
