Best version of the FX Panthera for hunting.

I am thinking of the Panthera 500 for next summer and getting it as a hunting gun. I know this is a PRS rifle but I feel like the Panthera 500 would be a great gun for hunting to ranges to 150 yards or even more. Do you think the Panthera 500 would be the best for hunting between the three models or a different gun all together?

Correct! That's a DonnyFL Emporer with the 6" extension on a .50 Cal Evanix.
Good for about 80 yards. I know the limit of all my AG's.

Do you know the FPS and weight of the bullet? Can you figure out things from there?
Can you figure out wind drift adjustments on the fly and on and on.
Do you even understand what TR you need for any given round in an AG?

Yes. Okay if I want to shoot 27 grain slugs at 935 feet per second for hunting. You are going to have around 50 fpe. Also the wind drift adjustment in a 10 mph wind would be 2-3 inches.

I know for PBs that a 10mph wind at 100 yards can push a bullet 10 inches off target. Of course it always depends on what caliber and load your running.

The higher the BC and speed the flatter shooting the projectile will be over range.

Then you have a basis to understand long range shooting.
THEN you have to adjust that to the slower speeds and ballistics AG's shoot at.
It's not point and click click done!
Long Range shooters also spend many MANY hours practicing! Adjusting the Gun and ammo!

I know ballistics. I can shoot with them but when people ask me I can't explain it. I only know them when I am shooting.

I know where to put the cross hairs if there is a 6 mph cross wind blowing and the target is 95 yards away. I can't tell you where to put the cross hairs but I know where to put them if I am in that position.
