Best Weihrauch for a first time springer shooter?

HW50 just dropped off by the courier.

That's my preference for that rifle as well. Get some JSB 8.44 or FT 8.64 and have the time of your life

Thanks, the shop I bought it from sent me 1000 JSB 8.44 as a gift with the rifle.

Just need to get some work done, will clean the barrel and put a few through it after work (scope should also be delivered this afternoon).

And of course it is almost weekend...

Owning virtually all of these at one point in time or another, and most currently, for me, the optimum choice is an R9 or HW98 in breakbarrels, or a 97 in and underlever. My first choice is in .20 caliber, but I have several in .22 that deadly and accurate too. The absolutely most accurate every day dependable springer in my collection is a .20 caliber HW97, meticulously tuned using a Vortek kit. It literally shoots the 13.97 grain pellet hole-in-hole at 20 yards, and inside of an inch at 50.

Don't expect any springer to shoot like I described above out-of-the-box without some tuning work, or at least shooting several tins of pellets to settle it down. However, the Weihrauch series of rifles are the absolute most accurate out of the box springers one can buy. The Air Arms TX200s come in a close second.

Looks good. No noticeable barrel droop. That's a pretty common but easily addressed issue with many of the new 50s.

What scope and mounts did you go with?

"Pick your(rifles) favorite pellet and order 5 to 10 tins at a time there after."

If he dont have or ever shot the rifle yet how u do dat? Also how do some guy at aoa know ? I need to learn that stuff.

Then if you order stuff with the gun the guns cost already gives or should give you free shipping all in the order ?
It doesn't really matter, the gun, and the shooter, need to break in, and every forth tin is free.

I think that he is saying that if you throw some pellets in on the order over the phone, they don't gank you on extra shipping charges. You are already paying shipping on a new gun.

The internet calculator shipping gizmo does not care, and will charge you extra by weight of pellets for shipping.

At least I think that was the drift?
My last gun purchase cleaned me out. Lol
I had to wait to order pellets.
I couldn't talk them into tossing a tin in with the rifle.
Lol

Also interested in which mount and scope you chose.

I got a Hawke Airmax 3-9x40 AO AMX which was also delivered this afternoon although I was only expecting it tomorrow.

Wanted to mount it using a medium Hawke one piece mount I had already, but the mount is too long at 140mm with the scope tube being 114mm.

Going to either cut the mount to remove enough material in the middle to make it work but still have the two pieces sit flush against each other, or else I will go get other mounts at my local gun shop tomorrow.

The mounts are also barely high enough because of the AO ring, so I either have to shim the scope a bit or else will have to go for higher mounts.
Will test fit and see before I decide what to do.

Good scope I always recommend the sportsmatch T04C medium rings. The T02C will also work at that power level. IMO they're by far the best made Airgun rings.

Here's a better view of another Airmax mounted in T04C rings

Looks perfect thanks.

Have since established the medium mount will be just too low as the AO ring touches, so I will go shopping in the morning.

Did clean the barrel and sent a few shots downrange, am really happy with the ‘50, it will likely become a favourite.

The medium Sportmatches clearly clear the objective bell on the Airmax scopes. That's why I attached the photos
