N/A Big bore air rifle ammo

To answer your question, big bore air guns are a niche market and does not generate the sales volume that smaller bore air guns do. Therefore fewer people can make a living catering to us.
For every guy shooting a 357-50 cal air gun there are hundreds of air gunner who shoot nothing but small bore (.30 - .177). Maybe thousands?

That brings me to a question that I have. Because it's been getting harder finding pellets for my Hammer, at least cheap ones, I have a dilemma. I am a felon. I'm legally allowed what I have where I live, but as for ammo, my umarex hammer will shoot. 510 caliber black powder ammo. As long as they aren't the ones with the paper pouch full of gunpowder attached or inside of a casing with a primer cap, can I legally purchase black powder pellets for use in my airgun? I live in oregon, but it isn't oregon law I'm worried about. I'll crack the trunk and let them look at my hammer as long as they're respectful. I'm not worried about that. It's buying it online from a place like midway. Do they card for ammo? I'm sure they have to for age, but do they background check for what is essentially a pellet gun pellet? I'm only asking because the only thing keeping me from getting cheaper ammo is I don't want to be woken up by flashbangs coming thu my living room window over some pellet gun ammo. But it's getting ridiculous in price. I used to be able to get 100 for $22 bucks. Now its 50 for $22. anyone know anything about this? I'd appreciate any knowledge

@fritzoskinnick It's just lead, but if you are in doubt I recommend consulting with an attorney for answers that you can have confidence in. It isn't worth risking one's freedom IMO.
