Big bore air rifle

Hi guys, i am new to this forum as well to big bore air rifles. I recently got a 457 extreme big bore air rifle. I ordered a 4500psi 74 cu.ft carbon fiber tank from air ventuiri. I want to go to the range for target practice. My rifle is also 4500psi. I dont think i can get many refills just with this tank. What can i do to get maxium use of my air tank before needing to refill it?? Or do i need to take 3 tanks to the tange which does not seem practical. I was looking into the air tank booster but dont know much about them and how practical they are.

I would appreciate your suggestions!

thanks.

Oh my.

A powder burner just getting into airguns?

Your math is correct. A 4,500psi tank ( lets just assume all the numbers are spot on) will not give you even 1

Pre-charged airguns using a "balanced" valve run on a "bell curve" ( sure your is 2 shots but whatever, still the same idea). Your best accuracy - the thing airguns do best- and or efficiency will not be at absolute max but rather wherever you tune it. Your rig should come with a couple of springs, use a lighter one and fill lower.

You will need a chrony, lot's of air and some time to figure out your best fill pressure.

Maybe the best way to get 4,500psi is a compressor or a booster so it is a home range thing to me.

If used start with whatever the owner was doing as far as fill psi ammo weight. If new just have a nice chat with your dealer.

For big bore target shooting it is good to shoot with the gun tethered to the SCBA tank with a regulator between the gun and the tank. Regulate the pressure down to 3000-3800 psi and then you will get some shots off the tank.

Big bores do use a lot of air, so a compressor is in your future. :)

Air is free until you start compressing it !!!
