I was REALLY mad that I got my previous post taken down and I thought it was AOA or EBR folks that had something to do with it. Well, I was wrong. Turns out forums have rules about which companies can and cannot post. I was wondering why I didn't get any private message to me saying, "G-man, WTH?". Turns out they could not.
I want to point out that the only thing I said was "shameful" was the fact that my previous funny, good natured post, that had suggestions to make it better, got removed. I was incorrect assuming why that happened, though.
My biggest gripe was that I was lead to believe and then let down when no vendors or manufacturers and no "expo" component to EBR.
I would not have posted anything negative without this component.
Oops. Apparently, there was a huge indoor area packed with all the cool stuff. I am mad at myself for missing the sign that Lauren said was bigger than the wall behind her. Dang it. I will say that we asked around and everyone acted like they didn't know what we were talking about. We asked the right people, too. But maybe we were saying "vendors" and we should have been asking where the "manufacturers" were set up. Who knows, they were there and we missed it. We know better for next time.
Also, I took friends to AoA yesterday and they got a sweet little starter PCP set up for their kid. I watched them both try it out before we left. I got a photo of it. I was wrong for calling shenanigans that their hold music message was misleading.
I also said "In this same industry feedback thread below, there is a "Congrats to the EBR champs" with ZERO reactions. That is a good clue that people were unhappy."
WRONG. There was another reason for this I already mentioned above.
It is still true that I didn't like the raffle ticket gal. But you know what? Maybe if I wasn't so cranky about the things I was wrong about then maybe she wouldn't have bothered me so much. It’s ok if you don’t know about our sport and sell raffle tickets at an event. It probably isn’t ok to act like you don’t give a hoot about the sport, or the people there, while you are selling raffle tickets, though.
There was nowhere to sit.
Still true but there is no way I would have ever posted about that by itself. Next time I will bring a chair and sandwiches. NBD.
There was one place to eat, a food truck that if you ordered a #1 it was chopped up fillet minon for $50.
With a side and drink you would never get out of there under $30.
The food truck listed that they are selling alcohol at a shooting range. (Even though they really weren’t.)
This is not a complaint about the EBR match as much as it was about the food truck. This is, again, not something I would have posted about alone.
Alright, it is still true there was a problem with the big bore stage on the day that I was there. They made some scoring adjustments but that did bum me out a little bit. Everyone else too.
I still think AoA is the best Airgun company and I trust them. When I hand my air rifle over the counter they treat it like they know I can't replace it and I appreciate that. They ALWAYS do more than they say and often charge less than they could for things.
Still true. That is probably why I got all fussy about the match.
I was at AoA yesterday and good on Lauren for bringing up this post face to face and setting the record straight.
