You are correct! The power is lower but it's a better gun. Not suggesting the Airacuda, just sharing my experience. There ARE better guns to be had for less than 1k.

I gotcha, I would also recommend the Airacuda if you just want a quality, and standsrd budget airgun with not a whole lot of bells and whistles.

AEA challenger pro fit that price range and certainly pack a punch. I did notice on the newest versions of the bigger caliber long barrels they finally woke up and put a hammer spring adjustment on them. If they actually start putting that on the newer made standard ones they might be worth looking at. The challenger pro seems to get pretty good reviews for reliability.

AEA big bores are better. I haven't had any problems with my .51 AEA. Well, after the initial tune up. Did around 150 shots in a freezing weather, it never failed. In fact it has less problems than PB Ruger American has That one fails to feed brand new, right out of the box. Eh.
