anyone know an estimated release date?
Going to try to get it here ahead of small game season in most places. Hopefully late summer. If they follow most of thier past releases, October-November?
This platform seems better suited to the .177 and .22 calibers. Why so many “insist“ on the .25 in such small packeges is a mystery. As we understand the “form factor” is about reasonable efficiency and performance. Trying to “shoehorn“ larger calibers into smaller, already capable platforms? Plain silly, particularly when not backed up by any reasonable improvement in performance…Going to try to get it here ahead of small game season in most places. Hopefully late summer.
Also, shot count on higher power settings (as I saw a number of questions about it). From a full 4,350 fill in .25 with the reg around 2800 and HS all the way in, getting about 13 shots on the reg at 28 FPE with 25.4s (so a mag and a half), plus a few more within 10-15 fps off of it before it really falls off. Still playing with various hammer spring options, so there may be some more capability there in production guns.
Also, on the side lever, took a quick video showing it in a more clear way. There's room for the thinner gloves for sure if you don't have mammoth hands. Without gloves, I don't think anyone will have an issue with it, even those with larger hands/fingers. But like I said, if it doesn't work for ya, I am eager to see what you replace it with.

Some folks want it, and that's all good by me. Easier to test with it as it's the worst case scenario in terms of air consumption. I agree, .22 is probably where most folks will go, and rightfully so. But options are good, even if they don't make perfect sense for everyone. This platform seems better suited to the .177 and .22 calibers. True. My experience with squirrels certainly reflects that. I often need to add one more shot to ensure it's dead with .22 but .25 and .30 one-shot kill is the norm. But I will likely buy the .22 version of this gun when it is available. Great job Air Venturi! The Avenger was my first PCP.Because of the larger meplate. .25 has a substantially larger front to it, this helps reduce over penetration and do more tissue damage. If its a pest, I've only needed 1 shot. This may be the ticket for the ATV buddy gun.
That is why I will not buy .25 for short guns. I have one each FX DreamTact Compact in .177 and .22. Really excited by this MicroStriker. Can't wait! The only problem with 25 lower power setups is their loopy trajectories. Pair that with higher scope heights and holdovers can be all over the place. Not a big deal if you’ve got a squirrel feeder set up, but if you’re walking and stalking, it can be the difference between a missed shot, and a clean kill.
