I have been looking at black hound. Cyclops Joe gave a good review, also some pb reviews. But, I would like to hear from you guys what y'all think about them.
I have 2 Genesis 6-24x50 mil scopes and they are ok.
They seem to track well.
The glass is similar to my Arken SH4 Gen 2 6-24x50.
The side focus range marks are off by a little bit, so using that to range is a no go, imo...
Overall I feel like they are a decent scope for the money when they are on sale for around $200-225.
I would never, ever pay full price for one...
Take this for what it's worth.
I have never looked through a higher end scope than my Arken... I have always gotten by with very budget friendly optics and have only now been able to afford better stuff.
When I look through one of these Blackhound or Arken scopes, I ask myself "How much better can a $500scope be???".
Yes! Thank you. Arken is another one that I have been pondering. Lots of good stuff on here about them, but couldn't find anything on blackhound. Another that was suggested to me is sightron s-tac series.
I would fully agree. I caught a Blackhound 1-8FFP LPVO on sale for over half retail and grabbed a couple some time back. They are ok... I'd have been pissed if I'd gotten a couple at full price, but at right at $200 shipped each, they are fine. The FFP feature saved them for me.
Havent tried their larger scopes, but am a fan of Arken. Have a few 4-16's and 6-24's. The only issue I have with them is the weight.
FWIW, I'm another fan of Arkens lightweight scopes. I wish some day they would come out with a SFP option on those. Under 6X the reticle is very thin and hard to see.
