Daystate Black Wolf

nice!
moderator must slightly decrease FPS ??? unless it's so heavy it tips the barrel down... which i doubt.
were you on a stable bench?
The moderator will tip the barrel down! Do it at 50 with your ghost and it will be different too! Its more on the blackwolf cause the black wolf barrel hangs out there more!

I agree on the point that Black Wolf seems the baby of father Wolverine and mother Ghost.

But....

Having a Delta Wolf I do not find a bonus on buying a Black Wolf. Just can't find it.... At least I find much better alternatives for that money.
The BW behaves very differently in the sticks and at the shoulder than my Delta and or Alphawolf does... I find the traditional stock balances a tad better than a bullpup... might just be me.

Yep, I've stated the same about how convenient it is to have an extra 480cc valve when shooting the Ghost....the flip side to the convenience is that with the Red Wolf, the (firing) valve sees full bottle pressure. Which essentially makes the plenum VERY large, and potentially helps the gun make more power.

Dunno how that unvalved bottle versus power potential plays into the Black Wolfs design, but it may have been very intentional.
Interesting 🧐

So I built a rubber mulch pellet trap this morning and messed around with my Blackwolf a bit. I had some luck with group improvements with the regulator at 130 and power around 16. I only have room for a 20 yard range so I'm not reading too much into it until I can get back to 50 yards at the range. But at least I'm getting more shots per fill, and having fun as well.

I took the gun apart to degas the bottle. I don't think I had to but the manual said to, so I did. I also took the barrel off just to check things out. I couldn't get the shroud completely off because I didn't have a tool for the end cap.

One big surprise was that the laminate stock was very light when I took it off. Shocking, really. I didn't weigh it though.

I'm going to leave the regulator setting in place until I get a chronometer, and just experiment with different power wheel settings for fun.

One question that I have, maybe someone here can help me with...

I took the fill valve all the way off after degassing the bottle, just to make sure all the air was out. After I was done messing around and filled it back up, it makes a little balloon-like squeaking sound while gassing up. Everything else seems fine, operationally, just that sound. Did I screw something up?

That's just the valve fluttering...your fine. Just remember to fill slow and your fine
Thanks, that helps a lot. It didn't do that before I took it apart so I was concerned. I always fill slowly because I'm still new to PCP and am always worried that I'll screw something up, haha.

on some airguns you have to cock them before attempting to fill them or they wont take air.

Check classifieds... a certain cave person has a brandnew MK3 Air chrony for sale.
Also you could drop that reg pressure down to 115 as a starting point.
And YES you always have to degas the gun completely to decrease reg pressure...
you can increase reg pressure without degassing.

Yep, as others stated degas is necessary to decrease reg pressure. Since you can go up but not down under pressure, you’d start tuning with a “likely too low” reg and then work your way up slowly until you hit target speed (on the knee of the curve, meaning max speed a tad higher than target speed). Buuut you need a chrony to make that process worthwhile ;)

When you lower the regular to 130 bar, how many shots are you getting from 250 bar fill to 200 bar fill? I noticed when the regulator is set at 145 bar stock from AOA, my air full drops from 250 bar fill to 200 bar fill in only 11 shots ( one magazine)
