Bleed valve or dump valve - Definitive answer ?

Hi everyone. Just joined today.
My 6.8 liter carbon bottle came with a one press dump valve, but I was thinking of swapping it out for a more gentle bleed valve, the one where you open the tap and bleed off a bit slower.
2 different guys down the range said I was crazy as the instant dump valve was far better for the gun. I fail to see that as it is quite a violent dump of all the air in the whip.
Can someone in the know give me the answer as I cant find any advice on it and dont want to swap it out if what I already have is better.

Most guns have their own check valve and that is the only thing this effects, I'd argue a sharp dump can't be healthy for most anything hydraulic/pneumatic though...

Except firing our pellets ofc.

NO,,, on the slow bleeding,,, I open my bleed valve as fast as I can,,, it helps the check valves to seat, to prevent air loss in the tank or gun you are filling
