I'm guessing you don't know about PM (private message) so I'll tell you here.

Yes. Every subject should be under the relevant section.

Though I'm not sure what's going on with you. Because sometimes we all make mistakes, and a moderator will just move your post to the correct section.

For example this question could have gone under Off Topics, Shooting The Breeze. You get it?

I like the forum. I still don't like the search engine nor have I figured it out.

A older forum had a search bar. I could have typed in, oh, say John Bowman .257 Scandalous. And every post that had any of those words would have come up. I could have read for DAYS & learned something that I wanted to.
He's the guy that shot 1/8" moa consistently with 420257 cast slugs from his tank of a rifle build. Got called a liar.
Went to LASSO & outshot everyone there. Only 35 guys saw it. He sent 19 out of 20 slugs through a 3" Ram Silhouette at 300 yards in high winds. It was witnessed. People apologized. Tom Gaylord wrote an article about that Scandalous .257.

It was Scandalous because back then a big bore wasn't considered a big bore unless it was .308 or bigger. Now, by this forums standards, which tends to set the trends a big bore is anything over 150ft/lbs.

Anyway welcome to you. Fiddle around & enjoy. You'll figure it out.
click on my name and if you PM me I'll explain how to post pictures and what all icons mean.

I have been on many forums over the years, and get the PM stuff etc., but since I'm new here and I don't know who the moderators are, who would I PM? LOL Thanks for the offer of help, I might have to take you up on it sometime.

I registered a day or so ago, and I made a post in the pumpers forum, but now this is the only area I am allowed to make a new post. All the others tell me that I cannot start a new thread...did I do something wrong already, or do I have to come here each time and choose which forum I want the new post to go into?

Thanks,

Don

Perhaps you just tried to post a new topic too fast. The system has a waiting period between posts. I don’t recall how long the wait period is but it’s a few minutes.

I don't think that's it, I have tried waiting, logging out and logging back in. The only forum I can post new threads in is this one - all the others tell me at the bottom of the page that I am not allowed to create a new post. I can reply in any forum to any post, I just can't create a new post except for this one. Makes no sense to me, but if this is how I am going to have to do it, I'll adjust.

I'm on a Apple. I've noticed different devices, different things.

I didn't appreciate ballistics apps until this phone.

Anyway if I try to post to fast, hit done when it's already loading but I thought I missed the button with screen saver, it specifically tells me,

"You're trying to post too fast."

Did you register on say home computer and now trying to use a different device?

About the moderators here. They're only known to me as Mod 1,2,3,. I don't know how many there are or how to even get ahold of them. Wish I did.

Right now, yes. I registered on my home computer and now I'm at work. I'll have to check once I get home if I have the same issue.

PM @Michael (forum owner)

I’d also screen shot and upload it here so the moderators can see what you are talking about.

That or go to the bottom of the page and click on contact to contact a moderator. Perhaps something was accidentally tinkered with.

If you go to the search function and type in the username search field “moderator” perhaps you can find one too. But I think the above two solutions are the fastest.

PS: if you are able to select “New Topic” to create a thread, on the bottom there is a Forum field such as “General Discussion” where this current thread is posted. Being that you were able to post this thread, I think that you should be able to change the thread to say, “off topic” just as a test. It would be odd to see you pigeon holed into only General Discussion. My guess is that you are not filling a Forum topic out or you are not doing the Capcha thing on the bottom of the page with the images (an annoying process that you have to do less and less the longer you are here [anti spam]).

The Forum owner is very keen on everybody having a good time and following the 3 rules and creating an enjoyable, easy to use platform. I am confident he will respond to your needs or a moderator will in the near future. Contact both and sit tight.

Welcome to AGN, by the way.
