Blond Raccon,

No really ,I just saw a blond raccoon walk down my garage roof to my overhanging tarp ,was about 10ft. from me,was Fat.maybe pregnant.

At first I that it was a big cat,but no.It did not have strips per say.

So have any of you seen one, plus can they mate with a cat?

I have a big basement,I am thinking if female she is searching for a place to have babies.

I do not like killing anything, I do catch and release and have some cage tarps...maybe I should catch it....Wish I got a picture.

I was coming home one night and a mother coon ran out in front of me and had about five fairly good size babies behind her. One of them was an albino. i got stopped and just stared at them. It was crazy looking. Of course I couldn't get a picture so you can imagine all the flack I took from friends. lol I'm telling you it happened. I don't think coons can mate with cats but not sure on that one. It could have been some kind of offspring from something like an albino? Someone on here will know. I'll tell you that one I seen was neat looking. I kept live traps out forever trying to catch that sucker but never did. Crazy stuff lol

I have saw both black and cinnamon color phases of raccoon. That blond color phase animal would be cool to keep around to see if it can keep producing those non-dominant allele gene offspring, as an experiment of sorts.

Some stuff I leaned in biology class years ago... In the animal world certain traits, such as blond and albino gene traits, were "weaker" genes and in a sense were"ate" out of the gene pool through natural selection. This would be due to the fact that the animal can be seen more easily by predatory species and therefore preyed upon more than their camouflaged brothers and sisters. Nowadays this predator/prey cycle of weaning out the weak is being regulated or even eliminated by the civilized human population, so a lot more of the recessive genes are popping up in the animal world for us to see.

I hate raccoons
