Plug me in. Please. .30063 ish vulcan3 30 cal the mag might be a limiting factor. Don't know I just hate shooting non boat tails. Can't get anyone to make which is surprising for such a popular decent gun. Please call me at 9283794275I like them....for my heavier slugs....
Since it displaces so much lead in the base....
It will make it a longer slug, compared to a flat or dished base slug!!

That's the slugs I cast and shoot out of my Sumatra. 25. They seem to be really accurate out of its 1:18 barrel. If you want to jump start the addiction and can't wait you can go to
Altaros Turned Slugs — Silent Thunder Ordnance
Precision lathe turned projectiles have long been the pinnacle of ammunition, however the difficulties in turning lead always meant airgunners had to settle for swaged or cast slugs. That was, until Altaros developed the technology to CNC turn soft lead slugs. This advancement allows them to producewww.silentthunderordnance.com
They have the .25 kings. I did not only because I found out about the Queens in 25.

If you can cast this same slug consistently, you are steps ahead of a lot of us, that for sure. That's the slugs I cast and shoot out of my Sumatra. 25. They seem to be really accurate out of its 1:18 barrel.
Look up my airgun range channel on YouTube and he puts flat and dish bases against the boat tail.I can only speak about the .25 cal boat tail slugs vs. the same weighted flat or dish base slugs. With the rifles I have it seems that I get more distance and accuracy from the boat tail vs any other. From 44 to 61 grain slugs vs the same weighted flat or dish based just don't reach out as far.
The data is easy to access. I get it I love talking to fellow shooters too but let's try and focus on what hasn't been solved?Look up my airgun range channel on YouTube and he puts flat and dish bases against the boat tail.
That's it pressure pour works really wellPressure pouring with a ladle using Wayne52's (may he rest in peace) technique gives very consistent results and accurate pellets and slugs.
I have a .30 60gr. boattail HP. It sells well.Plug me in. Please. .30063 ish vulcan3 30 cal the mag might be a limiting factor. Don't know I just hate shooting non boat tails. Can't get anyone to make which is surprising for such a popular decent gun. Please call me at 9283794275
As far as boatails in .510 Caliber a 650 grain spire point boat tail is very accurate...It has a B.C of around .5 ....The other slugs i shoot are usually a gas check design without gas check..They shoot..my theory in airguns is less bearing surface the better..
You’re saying that you compared slugs of equal weight and the boat tails were running faster than the flat or dish base? I also am confused by your last statement. More power with less energy? What do you mean by that? Energy and power more or less refer to the same thing. What were you referring to? Also I’m pro boat tail but they really excel at long distance shooting. They take a second to stabilize when they leave the muzzle. I’ve not had a chance to test any boat tails out of My V3s yet. They’re just too long. I have some Griffin 73 grainers and they’re just too damn long for the breech. You can see in the photo how much longer a boat tail is compared to a dish or flat base.I have been playing around with BT a little bit. I want to really test them in my Panthera. What I have seen is you get more speed out of them with the same weight flat base slug due to the less bearing surface it has. More power with less energy.
Less bearing surface, so it has less drag on slug going through barrel. However more speed does not mean it shoots better. You’re saying that you compared slugs of equal weight and the boat tails were running faster than the flat or dish base?
