Bored out of my mind what's this I see a 600?

Well It really sucks trying not to catch that nasty virus so I spend allot of time alone and very bored. Got up today, well I got up several times and went back to bed each time. ;^) A rough life in the Americas it is. Finally when I managed to stay up around 2PM I noticed one of my 600s hanging on the wall. Thought to myself, it's been at least six months probly over a year with my tracking of time, I wonder if it will still shoot. So, I plucked it from the wall zeroed in on a target and let it rip. Three shot group the size of a nickel offhand then a flyer and then out of pellets. Wow it held air forever I thought as I tried to remember what pellets I fed this thing so it would not jam. Seems like it was a wadcutter so I grabbed a tin of Beeman Wadcutters loaded up and fired off a shot, that was good but second shot was a jam. So, I cleared the jam with great difficulty and repeat. Second shot jammed again. Well that wasn't it. So I tried some Beeman Bearcubs they are almost a wadcutter. Same scenario a good shot and a jam. Well there is always the old standard Crosman Premier, I wonder how they will do? I loaded them up and bang bang bang no jams at all ever. Lucky me now I need another co2 cart or better yet the other 600 but alas it was out of air too. Still it had the scope on it so I slid in a new cart and fired off these five shots. By then my arms were done holding these heavy things up so I shot it rested. Still it did pretty good after sitting around for so long. Bottom shot on the target was the first shot and the cart was near empty I put in a fresh cart and you see the results.

After that I decided it shot well but was a bit too noisy for the basement 10 meter range. So, I set about making a moderator/shroud for it. Werqing all day on an hour and a half project I managed to get it most of the way done. ;^) The picture is a mock up as I sill need to shape the carbon tube to give room for the carts to go in and put a couple of screws in the internals to hold the thing securely to the barrel then glue it together. I found hot glue werqs quite well for these low fpe units.

Looking at the pic I see I need to do some blueing on the piercing cap as well. Maybe next time it is empty.

Fun guns of days gone by they are.

It will look similar to this when it's done likely tomorrow.

You seem to like guns from days gone by. Maybe you’re the guy that could give my Crosman Model 70 CO2 rifle a good home. Dad bought it new for me when I was a kid. Been in my gun cabinet ever since. Shoot me a PM if you’re interested.

very cool, i would say i am a 600 fan, i think i have 5 or 6 of them , i lost count, & last i knew only 2 work, now maybe 1 , i have been looking for a stock for years, finally found a aluminum wire stock about a month ago , took the screw out of the plate on the back under the sight, & a long skinny spring popped out , & not sure how to put in back in ( the stock mounts to the back of pistol where plate was removed) btw on this 600 i have a 10 inch barrel on it .. i will be the first one to say i am not worth a crap with a pistol, the reason for the stock & looking for the right red dot for it. thanks for posting & the pics. PS .. forgot to mention , i purchased this one from a forum member that stated it was done by MC1 with valve mod for power

My 600 will shoot almost anything I put through it but I had one previously that was very finicky and the best pellets that shot good in it were the RWS meisters. Second was H&N wadcutters. The RWS pellets have almost a mirror finish to them and are very slick. And that’s why I think they fed so good. I keep the feeding arm lubricated and also loosened it up and reseated it and then shimmed the barrel .004 From the feeding arm. And that was on the first one that was Giving me problems.

Nice! Good show, Bioman.

I have a tendency to get frustrated with 600 accuracy, simply because I'm always stretching any gun to its outer range limits. Suffice to say a(ny) 600 is not as impressive at 25 yards as single-shot Crosman classics like the 150, 112, etc. But it's unrealistic of me to keep beating my head against that wall.

My carbon sleeve was a very tight slip fit on my custom 600 barrel, even with Super Lube. I used electrical shrink tubing to cover the exposed brass (bronze?) barrel left exposed to leave room to remove the tube cap.

I have to rebuild mine....what is the better places to get seals, service and parts diagram?

Also need to replace seals in MK.1 and S&W 79....Who carries all these different seals....is MAC 1 still open? Thanks

I buy my seal kits on eBay when I need them. There are usually several sellers that have them and some of them are very inexpensive. All the ones I bought came with a schematic diagram of the gun also. I just watch the YouTube videos on how to reseal the guns that I did.

Thanks for that I kind of thought it might be the Meisterkugelns that I was shooting but I ran out. Looking for more now. I just readjusted my barrel from .005 back to .003 and it is behaving now. Shooting a bit faster too at least with the Crosman hollowpoints anyway.

Thanks
