Will you guys help me understand why I can't just unscrew a tube and screw on a bottle? I understand that it isn't that simple but I don't understand why. I would like to upgrade my Zelos to a bottle. Thanks for any advice.

You cant just unscrew the tube and put in a bottle. You need an bottle adapter and bottle. Why not just get a snowpeak m60b. It's basically a zelos in bottle for not much more than a zelos. It's much more expensive to buy a zeloes, bottle, and then bottle adapter.

I think someone did just that....unscrewed the tube....screwed in a bottle on a Zelos if I am not mistaken......

Umm no. You will need to bottle adapter. The threads on the bottle will not fit the zelos without it. These are two different versions as far as I know.

Bottle type cylinder...large in diameter !
If there is a small "gap" between the barrel and the tube type cylinder (most guns)...where is the spacing coming from for the...larger...bottle type cylinder ?

you are right, with MOST guns one needs a drop down / z-valve adapter, but NOT with the Zelos/M60 as there is quite a lot of space between tube and shroud.

yes.
i put a 0.5l carbon bottle on an M60 and needed to move forward the shroud about 1cm, so there is about 2mm clearance between bottle and moderator adapter. i guess with the Zelos there is a bit more space lenght-wise.

I wanted bigger cylinders on a couple of my semi-auto.
Above 0.7 (now 0.8) 61mm diameter cylinder you jump to 86.5mm diameter or larger on the 300bar CF cylinders.
Huben Power Dream Valve offsets ~30mm from the cylinder inlet centerline.
I have 1.1L cylinders (86.5mm) and given the spacing on those rifles I could go as big as 2L (96mm)

for a max. 250bar HPA adapter, i find the 3D printed look pretty creepy.
in the pictures on their website, it seems like there is some metal inside the adapter,
but no ratings or further description of the material whatsoever. =(
... of course ratings can be faked and all, but i would not trust this one.

Don't be paranoid. It's made by terminador. They a company that makes good products. You don't think they would be making sht without testing it? Here is video of the zelos with their bottle conversion.

Hatsan Barrage .22
Had to cut the stock down for the Dream Valve. Custom barrel bands from Jake at jb3dpd.com. My Hatsan Bullmaster .25 got the same treatment.
As for carry around, I have my Evanix Sniper X2, Niksan Ozark or Hatsan Sortie. I generally shoot my heavy creations off the tripod.

Engineering a firing system for either auto or semiauto would not be all that difficult.
Probably could do it with 3 or 4 nema stepper motors and controls.
Print the linkages for the trigger.
Tying a vision system back to the stepper motor controls, Raspberry Pi and some custom code would probably work.
Reolink already does it with their security cameras so the tracking software exists.
But I'd want a belt feed for the rifle, changing mags on the roof would be a pain.

Threading is only one issue, the needed adapter has a plunger seal, pressure gauge and fill foster on it to adapt it to the guns air-port.
The Zelos air tube already has all the parts on it as well as the correct thread pitch.
