Tuning bought 2 Korean Big Bores (leakers) fixed in a few hours

I bought these Korean Beauties the other Day, they showed up Yesterday afternoon, they are leakers I picked up at a good price, the Dragon 50 had several leaks and a Bad Poppet, the 909 had several leaks at the fill end, I took apart the Dragon first, found the O-rings needed replacement and the poppet was really worn out, so I replaced all the O-rings and resurfaced the Poppet on the Lathe, re-assembled and pressurized to 3000 psi.

I took apart the Big Bore 909 .45, the O-rings were shot, so I replaced all of them, checked the Poppet and it was good, re-assembled and Pressurized to 3000 psi,

left both guns over night and re-checked the pressures this morning, both guns holding pressure at 3000 psi, leaks are fixed and guns ready to go to the range,

these guns are very easy to work on, not very complicated at all, so if you are intimidated by your PCP, don't be, It's a hundred times easier to deal with than doing your Taxes......

Nice rigs and your are so correct, simple design to work on.

Any chance you slotted the sides of the front half of the valve body? This was a "44 Big-Bore" (way back) but not much has changed and this and a better poppet gives you the power level of a $250.00 tune. Now if you are able to mill the nub the barrel slides over and engineer something that slides over & seals the outside of the barrel and seals to transfer port power jump off the charts. The only tuner I've heard of doing this bumps the rifles price darn near $1,000. 

If you have the machines you might enjoy the experience.

If you find the correct ammo the 909 should should group 2" at 200.

no I just left it stock, I have a friend that wants to buy it from me, maybe we'll do the upgrades later if he wants to, all I have is a Lathe, I wish I had a Mill to, but I was thinking of Upgrading my small HF 7x10 lathe and getting a 8.7x23 Lathe then I could do some bigger projects, if I had more room I would get even bigger lathe but I don't, I have a friend that has a Multi machine, I could always use the Mill if needed.

Thanks Feinwerk, I am a fix it Felix type, I'm always fixing something for someone, I use to be an HVAC mechanic, so these things are easy for me, tearing down a Carrier 06D compressor and rebuilding it was not to hard for me, just another mechanical device, I taught myself how to machine on the lathe, built a dune buggy from the ground up and taught myself how to weld, I love to build things, so repairs are simple to me, I'm surprised I remember where everything goes, cause I can't remember if I had taken my daily Prescriptions....

They work...... shot them Yesterday at the range, both shot flawlessly, put about 80 rounds through each, the 909 45 was very accurate with both round balls and slugs, it liked the .452 250grn long colt slugs the best, the Dragon Slayer like round balls the best, but still liked the NSA slugs, both had plenty of power to take down a deer or a pig, these guns are fun to shoot, the accuracy is on par with the Texan or better......

I really like my dragon slayer. Its short enough to move around with and is pretty accurate for a 50cal. Hornaday .495 round ball shoots best but it seems to shoot well with everything I've tried in it. Wish it could be powered up more but the experts say not much can be done.
