Brand Spanking New HW95/98 .177 power numbers?

Hello all. Getting some conflicting information. Brand new Weihrauch HW98 .177 arrived from AoA. Test sheet shows 5 shot avg. @ 11.7 fpe(JSB 8.44 @792fps). I was expecting a bit more pep from a full power export. AoA assured me this was correct, and a non FAC rifle would be 8.5-9fpe. Anyone have chrony numbers/info to share on a stock 95/98 .177 rifles? Thought I had a pretty good grasp on the powerplant. Maybe the piston seal needs shot in? Thanks for any information.

Then here the 8.84 is testing at 741 ( muzzle) hw95

FWIW, My HW95L .22 from AoA is 17 FPE after I installed an ARH kit & Vortek seal due to dieseling caused by the factory over oiling/greasing because of lack of experienced folks due to the China Virus. Does your rifle have "USA" stamped into the barrel? Did you get a chance to chrono the rifle to verify the AoA numbers? Good luck and I hope you enjoy your new HW air gun.

New out of the box 98 here . A lot stronger but no jsb 8.44 used .

Maybe run to Walmart and grab a tin of cphp and crony them and see if you get a big jump.

Hard to find untuned new factory results.

I don’t have any experience with the hw95/98 but my hw97 .177 was 14 fpe out of the box. It’s my understanding that the 97 and 95/98 have similar power plants. A .22 would be 1-2 fpe higher than a .177 with a full power spring. Your gun might have a 12 fpe spring or a broken spring.
Brand new rifle. I'm hoping it's not a broken spring!

" after it settles in." i would shoot it a while , let it settle in

BTW i had paid $$$to have mine tuned to 11.6 , smooth to shoot .
I'm good with the 11.7 if it's due to a non-fac spring. AoA is telling me it's a full power export and that power level is correct though. That contradicts most of what I'm finding.

Yes, has the USA stamp on the barrel. I'll chrony some pellets today. I hadn't shot it yet thinking I might need to return if there was an issue beyond the possibility of a UK spring landing in a USA export.

I have some of those, but don't shoot them. I'll chrony a few pellets and see what I come with. I was hoping AoA had a reliable chronograph they were using!
