Brand Spanking New HW95/98 .177 power numbers?

Ya, go grab a tin or 2 of cphp at Walmart and have 1000 shots cheap and easy then just spend a day marathon shooting by that 1000 rounds youll see if any changes.. mine usually shoot fast new and settle in lower fps wise. I dont recall one gaining fps .. then what do i know? Lol.. or tell them you already shot 2000+ and it ain't getting improved.

Shot mine today got these results using JSB 4.5 8.44 gr . Although accurate these pellets are a little loose In the breach , I find the H&N 4.5 8.64 gr fit a lot snugger giving me higher velocity . the shot string below was with the JSB 8.44 gr

Shot count: 11
Low: 861

Nice. The JSB 8.44’s also fit looser in my rifle. They do deliver more energy while the FTT 8.64 4.52mm are the most accurate thus far shooting a jagged one hole group at 25 yards. With more patience I expect that to improve. My rifle is coming around with some break in. Report to follow….

And an update! Thank you all for the good information and support. With a few shooting sessions(250 rounds, maybe?) and a bit of patience things seem to be coming around. I have to assume the piston seal needed to relax. I don't really have any other explanation. Here's today's chrony time; 11.7fpe on the initial session to 15.2fpe is a nearly unbelievable change. I will need another chronograph session in a few days to fully confirm. The H&N FTT 8.64 are exceptional at this power level. At this point the HW98 is working exactly as it should be. I would not have made that bet a day or two ago. It may be a keeper!
