Brand Spanking New HW95/98 .177 power numbers?

I'm good with the 11.7 if it's due to a non-fac spring. AoA is telling me it's a full power export and that power level is correct though. That contradicts most of what I'm finding.
This is absolutely wrong. Try talking to Shane at AoA service dept. Ext 150. He's a good guy. Some of the sales people are... well sales people and not great. That gun should toss 8.44s at 900 fps, give or take 10 fps.

Also check that gun for barrel droop. It's pretty common on the newer 95 family guns. The cocking arm binds against the breech block and creates a false lock up. I recently tuned a new 20 caliber 98 that had this exact fault.

Brand new rifle. I'm hoping it's not a broken spring!
It’s highly unlikely but I did buy a new HW50 .22 that came with a crony tape that said 530 fps with 14 grain pellet for 9 fpe. It had very poor shot cycle that never improved after 1000 pellets so I tore it down and put a vortek kit in it and discovered the broken spring. I like to put a kit in my air rifles so it wasn’t any skin off my teeth just a waste of 1000 pellets as I tried to get it to break in. If your shot cycle is smooth and you are happy with the power level just enjoy your rifle. A .177 at that power level has nearly identical trajectory out to 40 yards as 14-15 fpe.

but don't want to start with something that's not right out of the box.
So here's the thing. I've got more than a few HWs and couldn't tell you to save my life whether they were good right out of the box or not. I put a few shots through them to make sure there isn't anything obviously wrong and then immediately tear into them and tune then. Never had one that didn't turn out to be an amazing shooter. Even my 57 is pretty lights out.

That being said if you are more comfortable making sure you have a great one right out of the box, more power to you. Your logic is perfectly sound there.

Thank you. Awaiting a call back.

Great looking rifle, try the H&N Field Target Trophies .177 or the Baracuda Match .177 in 452 head size. These are really handy.

Thanks! The FTT pellets dropped it down to 11fpe. Didn't check them for accuracy, but I do typically like them in Weihrauch rifles at similar power levels. Working to get some anemic power issues sorted on this one. Have some Baracuda Match pellets I'll try in the future.

Yeah, I ordered a RAW HM1000x LRT almost 3 years ago and was shocked/dismayed when I received their updated gun not pictured on any website! To make matters worse, they sent me the wrong caliber too .....o_O
After spending $2K on my dream gun .... I didn't have too many positive things to say.

Turns out by making a new moderator, swapping out the butt pad and other issues - I now love it.

Who would have thought - not me:).
