Blackdog899 is expecting , and so am I . I just want to hear how to , or the best way to break in the New Tuxing twin cylinder compressors we are getting. Mine is the mini twin model TXEDM041 weighing in at 24 kg , or 53 lbs I'm going to be using Royal Purple breathable oil , and want hear all the best ways to break in these new Compressors as it's very important as you know. Thanks OldVet wants to know your thoughts on this.

I use Seco 500 and let it run for 20 minutes with no load on it. Let it cool back to ambient temperature and you’re good to go. Be sure to put an hour meter on it. I’m watching my oil color very closely, when I see a change in color I’m going to change it. I don’t quite have 2 hours on it yet so I’m still on the original oil.

I've had great luck with Husky non detergent, full synthetic oil. I stopped using Royale Purple a long time ago when Husky was suggested. Ran it in my old Yong Heng for 3 years, have it in my newer YH for months now & it's still crystal clear! No discoloration. Royale Purple discolors quickly. I was going to try Seco but have had such good luck with Husky I never tried it.

I know some have suggested change after the first 5 hours, I doubt I’ll let it go that far. Like I said I’m watching the color closely.

I use the same. After googling and reading everything I could find seems like this is it.
However is the oil only for the crankcase and may splash lube the cylinder walls. I haven’t
had my twin apart so don’t know exactly. Don’t know why it’s so important.

I believe most of the problems that guys have had is because of using the wrong oil. The manual calls for ISO 100 so I assume any oil that meets that requirement is ok, I went with Seco because the guys that are using it seem to be having good luck.

Importance of SecoLube500 and other high flash point crankcase oils is resistance to detonation (dieseling) in high-pressure cylinder should any happen to seep past rings. In tear-down videos for Yong Heng, the black, oily deposits on high-pressure piston are result of detonation, something to be avoided. WM

I'm using Royal Purple oil because it is considered a breathable oil for Scuba concerns. As soon as I set my Compressor up I'll start with the purple then later on get the filters needed for it to be safe for the Scuba. I'm not really going to do scuba , but I will need it Scba for firefighter equipment as it is the same.

It's more the efficiency of the filters one uses than the type of oil that determines how "clean" the air is. If just being used for airguns & not breathing purposes Royal Purple, in my experience, isn't as good as the Husky synthetic compressor oil. Once I switched away from RP I've never looked back. If you ARE going to use it, make sure it's RP synfilm recip.100! NOT the regular Royale Purple. Here's a picture of both.

It's that one , and yes I want to be able to use it for both breathing , and PCP.
I plan to get some of the firefighter equipment later on , and Husky sounds great for PCP as it's clear , but it's not a breathable oil like the RP you have there.

I've looked everywhere, including Royal Purple website & haven't seen anywhere I looked where it states it's rated for BREATHING AIR uses. Maybe you know something I don't. If so please clue me in. It's definitely for reciprocal compressors. It worked well while I did use it but the discoloration factor, price & the fact I can get Husky a couple blocks away at Home Depot anytime I need it are my main reasons for sticking with it. I'm curious about the RP breathing air thing so if you happen to find that please give me a shout

" Is Royal Purple oil recommend for breathing HP compressors " Also I looked up Husky at my local HD. , and it's $15.30 for 16 oz. Which is over $30 a quart , or 32 oz. The Auto store a few blocks from my house sold me the RP for 47.35 for 2 quarts.
