Looking to get a second PCP rifle and have narrowed it down to these 2....I think. I bought a BRK sahara XR and have totally loved it, so I'm a bit biased towards BRK. I'm a sucker for traditional stocks and the King looks awesome. Both of them weigh about the same, the Ghost seems less complex and easier to work with as well as less complicated to work on. The King has a higher shot count. I'm not really interested in shooting slugs. I'm not too sure on which one is considered more accurate, that could be a toss up.

Also to note, the RAW HM1000X was on my radar, but a shot count of 60 is just too low for what I want. If you were to pick, which would you choose? Any cons to either that I'm not aware of?

My vote is Ghost HP....a RAW can be fitted with a 700cc bottle. I have a RAW HMx, incredible PCP and I send mine directly to Martin for services, the man who builds them. I get close to 80 shots on my de-tuned .22 @ 37 ft/lbs, you should definitely get close to 100 in .177 but don't quote me....😂👍. You definitely cannot go wrong with any of your choices 👍. The RAW will have the best trigger of the 3. You can also call Martin and have him build one to your specs 👍.

If you really are not interested in shooting slugs, I would go for the ghost as well.

I'll give you my take as I owned (yes past tense) both the RAW and King and I too didn't care much about Slug shooting. They were both very accurate rifles MOA at 100 yards all day with18gr pellets. The RAW has the best trigger however the regulator is the biggest PIA to adjust as it requires disassembly and trial and error if you don't have a RAW regulator tester, and not to mention the stock is shaped like a 2x4 LOL... the King had a leak that needed fixing from purchase, and it had the FX regulator creep that caused a slow first shot around 20 FPS, however, like the RAW it was equally as accurate. The King was my preferred rifle over the RAW because of the adjustability. Now I can't speak for the Ghost but, I just sent an Alpha Wolf Safari back to AOA for a refund. The first one had a block that had factory machine marks and scratches in the valve chamber and the replacement had barrel bluing was chipped and it to had a scratch in the block valve chamber certainly not an AOA issue as it's a Daystate QC problem.

I hear from other AGN members they had the same scratches with the Ghost so I would say if that's the route you go just know if you have FPS inconsistency issues between shots send it back.

My take with Airguns especially PCP's is you need to get one that suits your personal desires. My favorite PCP is the Edgun Leshiy 2 because it fits in a backpack 🎒 so I can take it with me on my mountain bike 🚵‍♂️ in the backcountry. Sure it's not as accurate as my Red Wolf but,I use it the most because it is the most portable. Now don't get me wrong the Leshiy 2 also hast it's drawbacks as the velocity is only adjustable via the regulator and it's the loudest of all my PCP's because of the semiautomatic actuation.

Hope this helps.

Cheers 🍻

I don't have much FX experience, but I'm sure the King would be a fine choice.

From my experience with BRK and Daystate, their barrels do very well in .177 with a wide variety of pellets. You're probably not looking for the expense, but I love my Red Wolf Midnight Standard in .177. It shoots most pellets very well and a few exceptionally.

As one other metioned - if you like a more traditional stock you should definitely give the Daystate Huntsman Revere a look. It's a fine rifle. Now that I see AoA has them with a left hand stock I may finally have to pick one up myself.

+1 on the Daystate Revere. Mine is the unregulated model and shoots beautifully. I get up to 100 shots per fill and love that walnut stock.

Alright, after looking at some more threads, it seems like the FX King doesn't do too well with 177. That's disheartening. I do like the Ghost a lot. Thank you guys for the suggestions. Any other PCPs with traditional stocks I should look at? I wish Manners would make one for PCPs, I'd jump on that in a heartbeat.
I'd look into the HW100 rifles on AOA. I was gonna mention the krait wood as they have a nice laminated wood on them but they are far from traditional haha. The L version can shoot 200 shots per fill though with 10gr going 880ish

I second this my redwolf was the best .177 ever have had!
