BRK Ghost share your tune?

Ghost HP .22 CAL
FACTORY TUNE
Reg set at 150bar.
18.13 gr JSBs were over 1100fps with PW at MIN.
25.39 gr MRDs averaged 920fps with PW at MIN.

FIRST CUSTOM TUNE
Reg @ 113 Bar
18.13 gr JSBs were averaging 995fps with PW at MIN.
25.39 gr MRDs averaged 894fps with PW at MIN.

Note: Testing the 113 Reg tune velocities with the power wheel from Min to Max, the MRDs proved only a few fps increase and the report sounded like it was wasting air, too much hammer spring for that reg pressure is my guess, especially since accuracy also started to falter.

The 18.13 JSBs were pretty accurate despite averaging 995fps. The first image is a group at 50 yards with the 18gr JSBs.

Ghost HP .22 Cal Reg @ 113 Bar

Other ammo tested:

JSB Hades - Avg 1033fps SD of 3FPS - Somewhat erratic at 50 yards
Gamo Red Fire - Avg 1039fps SD of 2FPS - Started out one-holing but that went astray with 3 hard fliers. I thought they were going to out perform the Hades
NSA 17.5gr Slugs .217 dia - Avg 989fps with SD of 3FPS - Not accurate
NSA 23gr Slugs .217 dia - Avg 884fps with SD of 5FPS - More accurate than the 17.5gr NSAs but nothing compared to the 18gr JSBs.

I also tested the NSA 20.2gr slugs .217 dia but they were shot on the factory tune Reg @ 150bat PW MIN and AVG1007fps with SD of 4FPS. Know too that the reg is still settling in and while the SD on the 20.2gr slugs was 4FPS (YESTERDAY), most all tests have had SDs of 2 or 3 since with the exception being the 23gr slugs which were the last round of ammo tested earlier today. I do believe the last 2 shots were falling off the reg though. Here's the string so you can see what I mean. 888, 888, 888, 888, 886, 886, 888, 886 884, 872, 875.

Another thing about the slugs, I've not slugged the barrel so I have no clue if the .217 dia is supposed to be a good match for the rifle. Maybe I should pull the barrel now and see what it mic's. :)

Brand new Ghost Plus (17") in .22. Nice rifle! Just home from a visit to AoA this morning. The Ghost followed me home.

18.13 gr. JSBs are flying at avg. 982 fps, for around 39 FPE. Huma reg is set to around 152 bar. HS is at 10.

I am pesting at up to around 30 yards, more typically 25 yards, and finding there is more noise and power than I would prefer for my particular "back yard" application. I'd like to get down to 30 FPE or slightly below.

Can you folks suggest a reg pressure and hammer spring dial setting to tame the noise level somewhat, save some air, and maintain good accuracy at these fairly close distances in .22? Most of my shooting is with JSB 18.13 and I will shoot some JSB 25.39 RD Monsters.

@Erdb what velocity are you getting with your settings (posted above)?

Don
Hi Don. What's your tripod setup in the picture? Specifically, how are you mounting it, e.g., picatinny rail? Thank you.

With my carbine I have the reg at 120 hammer spring at 18 and get 870 FPS with the JSB 18’s….super quiet and with the longer barrel you can go down on reg pressure and HS to achieve 870-890 with the 18’s.

longest shot with this set up is 104 yards on a pidgeon.

You've got a new record with Buster. Lasered and witnessed (I saw it with my own eyes). And in a serious crosswind. Impressive shot.

Mine is as it came outa box. Reg was at 150 & PW at 15. It was running 940 on 44's but what is really likes in my barrel at 100 is the jsb 50.15. So much so I can't bring myself to adjust reg or PW. I have the trigger the best I can get it with allen keys but I'll have to go deeper into trigger work to get my desired 5- 1/2 MOA consistently. 5-1" is not a problem & thats on a sloppy MagPul bipod . I did have barrel cleaned & polished before it arrived to me. Been having so much fun with 50.15 I haven't even tried ZAV 56 which I have . I'm fairly positive if I go deeper in trigger work that I can produce a 100 yrd group that would impress.

I own a ghost carbine in 22 and was not impressed with the groups I was getting until I pulled the barrel and did a full cleaning with a brass brush, Gunzilla, and some JB bore bright....Now it is a tack driver.....Super filthy barrel !!!!! Here is 5 shots before and after cleaning the barrel at 40 yards.

What's the twist on the .22 caliber ghost barrel?
