BRK Pathfinder, Honest Opinion/Review...

Just purchased this little baby a few days ago, so far I am literally blown away. Yes its pricey at just over $1700 USD but for such a short barrel I was very very impressed with the accuracy. At ranges from 10-30 yds its basically one hole pellet on pellet, At 50yds even in wind I got a dime size group with an entire mag. The action is butter smooth and I do mean smoooth. The trigger is good, not FX good but good. The gun itself, is very light easy to handle and very aesthetically pleasing to look at. Even my wife, who most days thinks I am insane for spending so much on what she calls toys, says its very cool to look at lol. I put a 0DB silencer on it and its quiet yes but could be better might upgrade to a DFL at some point.
I bought the gun for short to mid range pesting and it is filling that niche very very nicely.
I was leaning toward a Dreamline Compact Tactical and with the upgrades I had in mind it would have literally cost the same if not more than this gun. This gun already had the bells and whistles I was planning to add so I just went for it and I am not at all disappointed. If you can afford one of these you will not regret the money spent...

What caliber/pellet are you shooting and how is your shot count? I’m on the fence between the Ranger and the Pathfinder myself…

Its a 177 shooting, JSB Heavy 10.34gr, so far have shot well over 100 and still got lots of air, so I would assume near or more than 200 shots on a tank. I have heard very good things about the Ranger. I choose the Pathfinder for its size, I needed a small, accurate gun for close range pesting, its doing very nicely so far.

Congratulations on a fine choice. The BRKs are tough, get it done PCPs, right out the box… Post up a pic of your rig.
The scope is just temporary until I can get a PARD Day/Night scope for some night hunting, plan on using it for indoor pesting at night or some rodent control.

Congratulations and welcome to the BRK family. The trigger can be adjusted to your liking so don't be afraid to work on it. I've got an Atomic and changed the spring in mine and now its breaking crisp and reliably at 6 oz. Sorry but I don't know what spring I used because it was in a box of springs I had saved from other projects.

Ya it's a good trigger, just not FX crisp, I can work with it

That is one sweet setup! I want one in .177 as well, but my wife has informed me that my rifle purchases for the year are done. lol.
Lol ya I got that wifely ( ADVICE ) as well, I do have Birthday coming up, and I've been eyeing that new PARD hehehe, might have do some butt kissing....

I'm curious about your trigger. I have a 177 Pathfinder and my trigger 2nd stage is pretty stiff to break. I lightened the whole thing up via shortening the springs and polishing the sear a bit, but the break still takes a distinct effort. Is yours like that?

My shot count shooting Crosman 10.5 gr, which it does really good with, @ 800 fps is well over 130.

Yes same thing with the trigger, the first stage is very light, the second however is a bit heavy. It's not enough to bother me but still way more than I am used to on my FX's... Many times I will accidentally fire my impact before I am ready due to the trigger being so light...

Thanks for confirming. It doesn't bother me so much as I have other triggers tuned really light and have had the shot go before I was ready too. It is possible to lighten it, but don't think it'll ever be match light.

Agreed, it's not enough to bother playing with the gun settings, it's already proven to be a chipmunk/sparrow Destroyer...
