Brocock Brand Reliability?

I have a Sniper HP .22 (last year's model) and unfortunately it developed a leak from the firing valve after about one month. I normally buy used guns so the whole send it back for warranty work thing is a new frustration for me. However, AoA / Precision has been great to deal with so far. I will also say that this gun has been a bit of a prima-donna. It certainly is capable of fantastic accuracy, but I have never had a barrel that needed such regular cleaning. That's part of why I decided to send it to AoA, I want them to examine it while fixing the leak.

I have a Bantam in 4.5 and a Bantam Sniper in. 25 with an omega tank of 560 cc

Best assets: super comfortable to shoulder, light and shots per fill.

Accuracy is good but not comparable vs. a Vulcan 2 or a Uragan or a Daystate Wolverine HP R.

For an on the go hunting, the Bantam. 25 for weight, comfortable and shot count is a must.

My Uragan is a 22 Cal... If it would had been a. 25 Cal, I would had the Bantam in the bench.... With the Uragan is impossible to get more for the price.

Seems my Commander Hi-Lite has started leaking down overnight :( About 7,000 rounds through it without any major failures but last two nights it's leaked down. This morning I checked on it after filling yesterday after a plinking session to 230 bar and it was at 150 bar. The last time I had a leak-down issue it leaked down to 0 PSI because it was below 150 bar and I left it uncocked. This time 230 bar -> 150 bar and it was cocked with the safety on. I filled to 230 bar again and this time I'll leave it uncocked and see if that works. Otherwise, back to AOA for warranty repair, and I'll use my Concept Lite while it gets fixed.

Seems Brocock XR models are starting to becoming more available. Some rumblings from UK Owners about leaking tanks and issues with new cocking lever.

Do you recall what the issues are, or have any links? I'd be curious to know as the XR is a rifle that I've been considering. I'd to know in advance what I might be getting into.

Tahnks.

Sorry, I've been so many places trying to research potential Sniper XR purchase I'm not exactly sure where I read what. But poke through the various UK Air Gun forums.

In any case, from what I gathered, the gist of leak problem is longer term storage. And cocking level sounded like a tolerance issue, where it might be binding/rubbing the frame slot. First issue most likely requires factory/dealer service. Not sure if there would be User remedy for the second. Overall, might raise some concern for general QC..

Also, guessing that at this point of sales, that the sample size is fairly small and that Owners with problems tend to voice them more quickly than those with praise.

Yes, somewhat of an interesting situation.

Manufacturers need product in hands of Consumer to help iron out any initial release unseen, practical use issues. But many Consumers prefer to wait until 2nd or even 3rd revision of product to avoid early adopter issues. Both sides of the equation need data.

Add new product model growing pains to the manufacturing rush to compensate for COVID caused lost production and having some quality problems would seem logical.

Personally, think I'll watch and wait - Problem is how long... Or choose another product...
