Gents,
I have a Bantam Sniper HR in 22 that I absolutely love, but haven’t shot in a while. Then I saw this thread and had to drag it out and take her for a spin.
First group is 5 shots at 30 yards, wind out of the right, with the 15 grain Hades loping along at 610 fps. The power selector is turned all the way down, and I get 120 or so shots out of a fill. The rats do not particularly care for this tune.
View attachment 324265 The second group particulars are the same except the power selector is set to high, and the Hades are now going 840 fps. The neighborhood squirrels have taken a beating from this setting.
View attachment 324266 Mind you, I haven’t shot in months, and IIRC, I set my trigger at 2 1/2 pounds (I don’t like light triggers on field guns).
Pretty versatile gun, right there. I set it up for the 610 fps tune (I was looking for 12 foot pounds or so for eRatication) and in a bit of serendipity, the 840 fps tune turns out to be a hammer.
I wish mine was a side lever and have thought of selling it to buy one, but I’d have to be an All-Conference moron to sell something that shoots this good. Besides…working a bolt is kinda old school cool.
My only gripe is the safety. I don’t think safeties should be inside of trigger guards.
I’d buy another Brocock in a heartbeat, and at the present time, I am coping with a perpetual stiffie after seeing the new Sahara. I think I need one of those in 177…
