Brocock commander xr .22 experience

Not a Commander but of the same lineage. My Bantam Sniper HR (non XR) has made consistent, consecutive kills out to 104 yards on pigeons. Dime size groups at 50 yards consistently achieved. All three of my Brococks have been stellar in reliability and accuracy. My current favorite the Atomic XR has me flabbergasted at what I’m doing with it. Hitting half chewed black walnut husks and wine corks out to 64 yards. Hundreds of small pests downed… BRK Brocock makes solid, no nonsense PCPs. No bells and whistles needed. Mine have performed right out the box. No tinkering at all.

I got a Sniper XR, super sold rifle. Some might say it’s overbuilt. Mine is .177 and with 13.4 grain pellets I don’t have any problems hitting a quarter at 75 yards (wind dependent of course)

You making any videos with it yet??

No videos, that’s a whole other endeavor. I shoot for my own entertainment and purposes. Why would I be so vain to think people want to see videos of me plinking? Heck, I was just consistently hitting the pictured objects at the shown yardages. I shoot almost everyday and still get crazy excited at the hits I’m getting. It’s personal for me... but we can all agree an accurate PCP brings a smile to many faces. Edited to add, that the Commander will easily handle squirrels out to your stated ranges in good conditions.

That's good for that little rig and thank you very much for feedback and information.

Gents,

I have a Bantam Sniper HR in 22 that I absolutely love, but haven’t shot in a while. Then I saw this thread and had to drag it out and take her for a spin.

First group is 5 shots at 30 yards, wind out of the right, with the 15 grain Hades loping along at 610 fps. The power selector is turned all the way down, and I get 120 or so shots out of a fill. The rats do not particularly care for this tune.

The second group particulars are the same except the power selector is set to high, and the Hades are now going 840 fps. The neighborhood squirrels have taken a beating from this setting.

Mind you, I haven’t shot in months, and IIRC, I set my trigger at 2 1/2 pounds (I don’t like light triggers on field guns).

Pretty versatile gun, right there. I set it up for the 610 fps tune (I was looking for 12 foot pounds or so for eRatication) and in a bit of serendipity, the 840 fps tune turns out to be a hammer.

I wish mine was a side lever and have thought of selling it to buy one, but I’d have to be an All-Conference moron to sell something that shoots this good. Besides…working a bolt is kinda old school cool.

My only gripe is the safety. I don’t think safeties should be inside of trigger guards.

I’d buy another Brocock in a heartbeat, and at the present time, I am coping with a perpetual stiffie after seeing the new Sahara. I think I need one of those in 177…

Great read there justin and wow with the grouping!! I currently have a ton of fx 15gr pellets that need gone. I love the brocock line a lot and I have a concept light .177 bolt and its my favorite gun! Its stupid accurate and quite! I need to hunt with it more. If my wife goes with me ill take the .177 and let have her choice of the commander or Vulcan 3. Here is my .177

Addison,

I’m going to venture a guess and say that those bushytails don’t share our enthusiasm for Brococks (I may want to restructure that sentence…).

Beauty shootin!

Yes, it’s shooting the 18’s. Those little Vector Veyrons are sure hard to beat scope wise.
SMH,

Banging group there, dude! And thanks for the heads-up on the Vector Veyron scope. Never seen or heard of them, but it looks right at home on your Brocock. Seems the perfect size for the Bantam Snipers. I’ve never liked the scope overpowering the rifle, aesthetically speaking. They’ve always looked to me like a bad house addition…
