Brocock/BRK Brocock commander XR issues and questions

I have a Brocock commander XR .22. One of two issues I'm having is the roll pin that connects the charging handle to the linkage keeps falling out. It is the factory roll pin so the size should be correct. The guy I bought it from said it was even doing it when it was new, Just wondering if anyone else is having the same issue? The only fix I can think of is to flare the top side to keep it from coming out. If there's another fix I'm all ears.

The other issue is accuracy. I would think that if I fill the rifle to the max 240-250 bar it should matter since there is a separate regulator to keep the shot to shot pressures the same. If I only fill to the top of the green line on the gauge it's s tack driver. If I fill to max pressure it seems to be throwing of the point of impact. Not sure if the regulator is messing up or what. I do have a 0DB suppressor on it but I've had that on since the I bought it. Sorry but I do not have chrony readings. Oh also the tank pressure and the shot regulated pressure do not read the same, and the regulator psi stays constant no matter what I fill to.

Flaring or mushrooming the top of the pin is worth a try. Could also clean the parts really well and carefully apply some bearing compound or permanent threadlocker and let it cure.

Or if you have the means, make a new pin from the shank of a screw or a grub screw. Meaning a pin threaded on one end and smooth on the other (spin it up in a drill or drill press and grind or file off a portion of the threads). Then tap the charging handle to accept it, and apply a little threadlocker to keep it in place.

How many shots do you get when you only fill to "the top of the green line"? Used gun, somebody could have attempted to change some settings for performance 😏. Maybe the reg is set way to high or malfunctioning. Could also start with hammer spring tension. I got a vulcan 3 on a trade a while back, was barley pushing a 55 grain slug 800fps. Now it's sending them 1015 fps and accurate out to 65 yards(as far as I've got so far. Just got it to stop leaking. I try to look at the bright side, now I know the gun forward and back.

Thx for the reply.

So the tank gauge has a green section and then red. The manual says you can fill to the max since the regulator takes care of the shot to shot pressures.

Yes used. I purchased it from the original owner that left it how Air Guns of Arizona set it up for him. He said he didn't mess with the regulator setting at all. He's my neighbor and I actually believe him. I'll get my Chrony set up and try and get some speeds. It has an adjustable psi dial on the side that I messed with so maybe I will play with that and see if it helps.

Just like a clock...it will...be correct two times a day !

The regulator gauge and the air cylinder gauge will...only read the same just before the regulator doesn't have the proper pressure and empty's air cylinder of all of its air ! They are two completely different systems, only connected by a small passage.

the gages are not that accurate. i have always noticed a problem if overfilled, even in regulated guns there seems to be a sweet zone. i have 3 BRK similar platforms, the atomic, the pathfinder and the commander xr. all in .177 and all do better in the 230 bar and below range. you will fall off the reg around 150 and your groups will open up below reg pressure. That's if you can believe the factory gages. ?
regarding the roll pin, you may be able to flare it but, on my ghost i had to just replace the cocking linkage under warranty.

@zx10wall - Derrick is a master of tune on these platforms.

stay in the green... don't push the limits. As i was saying, the gauges are NOT that accurate, you need to fill slowly, when in doubt = under fill. i have an inline gauge on my fill whip and a gauge on my air tank to compare against.

Thanks I will do that and see if I can get new linkage. At this point it's out of warranty so I'll see if I can order it.

Thank you all for the replies. At this point I will fill to 230 and see how it does. And I will also try and get new linkage.
@Jinx3Mt I hope you see the desired result. I also suggest paying attention to the set pressure of your regulator. More specifically watch the regulator gauge upon filling the rifle to see if it moves as the reservoir gauge approaches the 225-230 bar mark. For parts AOA should be able to help. If not contacting BRK directly may help to get you what you need.
