Brocock/BRK Brocock Commander XR Vs. XR Magnum

Does anyone know the difference? I've searched quite a bit with no luck of getting an actual comparison, I've even seen where guys asked the same question but no real answer. Hoping someone familiar with both rifles can chime in. I assume the magnum comes with larger porting, higher reg pressure and a heavier hammer spring to deal with the higher reg pressure. But those differences don't justify the price increase in my eyes. Any info is much appreciated!

Thanks guys,
Beau

I don’t know all of the details off the top of my head, but I believe that the Magnum Sniper barrel is longer.

How the weight is the same with an Added 5” in length is beyond me. Maybe AOA has more detailed specs posted.

I have both a std and magnum 22 Snipers, and the difference is a bit more than 15fps. I have my std tuned to shoot 16gr pellets at ~900fps and the mag shoot 18gr at ~920 fps. My std is tuned near the top and my mag is tuned somewhat lower than it will go, and I don't know the full out top end, but I know it has some more to go. Just the numbers suggest 200-250fps difference, and I would suspect from owning both, that is pretty close to true.

By the way, AMAZING guns, very accurate, and very consistent.

PEP3 was saying the magnum runs about 15 foot pounds more than the standard not 15 feet per second. Your guns are running at about 29 and 34 foot pounds the way you have them tuned. So if the 15 fpe higher holds true then your magnum should have quite a bit more power left in the tank.
I’m definitely not saying that the barrel isn’t the only difference, that may very well be the case. Just seems like a lot of velocity gain from 5 inches of barrel. Definitely a huge cost increase for 5” of barrel.

They seem to be great guns, I’ve only had my Commander XR for a couple weeks now. Fit, finish and functionality is great. As is accuracy and consistency. Mine was waisting a lot of air when I first got it, but I think I tuned that out of it more shooting is needed though.

Thanks for the reply brother!

I thought the standard XR version had a polygonal in it too. I could also be wrong though.
If I remember right they both have the Lothar Walther barrels but the magnum is a polygonal so it shoots slugs better. I had forgot all about that, I was a little disappointed when I found out that my standard XR was not polygonal but it still shoots amazing.

Oh ok I thought I read on AOA that the standard had the Lothar Walther Polygonal barrel as well, must have read it wrong. Regardless the gun is a tack driver and I've tried Zan .217 25gr and Hybrids, both shot pretty good. I think if the gun was running magnum velocities it would shoot them even better. its only pushing the hybrids around 750 fps with max hammer spring and 130 bar reg pressure.
