Brocock Contour .177

Hello!

I'm going to buy my first pcp airgun. Any opinions about the Brocock Contour (.177)?  

And i would like to put a regulator in to the rifle.

I believe the Brocock Contour has been discontinued and the Bantam has superseded it. The Contour is an accurate gun however be mindful of magazine cycling problems in the future. It's not the magazine at fault, rather it's the gun cycling mechanical workings.

Buy it if it's super cheap like $300 or less better yet $200 otherwise I would look for something like a used Bantam HiLite or Compatto that doesn't require a regulator that shoots perfect in 177 or 22 specifically.

Maybe search the forums and read what guns are trouble free that many rave about that's already time tested and proven reliable or something with a 3 or better yet 5 year Warranty like the Crosman- Benjamin brand just don't tinker to void your fantastic warranty.

I have a .22 Contour I bought new. New magazine claws are still available, but not the magazines. Mine is still my #1 woods gun. Maybe I've been fortunate, but it's never had a cycling issue. Great lightweight gun and super accurate. It's in my avatar. I paid $500 new 4 years ago to give you an idea.

I still have mine but it's the Elite version with the gauge. Mine's in .22 and puts out about 16 fpe. It does have a little cycling problems where I would have to rotate the magazine a little to help it align while the pellet enters the chamber. I haven't broken the magazine indexing claw yet but I think I need to buy spares just in case. I wish they weren't made of plastic. One thing I like about the Contour is the light weight and short overall length. It's very handy and points well.

Mine was my first entry into PCPs and I'm still loving it. Last year I purchased a set of o-rings, indexing claw, and another .22 magazine just in case. I can't believe I haven't lost the tiny magazine with all the forays into the thick woods. Mine is shooting ata 15 fpe and likes the JSB 15.89s best. She's carrying a 3-12x32 Bugbuster and currently is sighted in at 25 yards. Once the leaves drop, I'll resight her in at 40 yards. I just put a Weihrauch muffler on her, but I don't like using an adapter, 10m x 1 threads, so one of these days I need to order another muffler from Neil Clague. She shot tighter groups with his on her muzzle. Also if I could afford it, I'd mount an MTC Viper Connect on her.
