Brocock Contour Hugget Moderator

I have a Brocock Contour with the stock Hugget moderator on it. If i remove the Hugget and look into it, i can see there aren't any internal baffles. So my guestion is, has any one been able to open one of these up without damaging the finish? I'd like to see if i can improve the modest performance of it.

The back end just unscrews. It may have some thread locker on it so a little heat from a heat gun. Don't think a hair dryer is enough. Mine came right off when I removed the Huggett from the gun. However I have made an interesting discovery. The sound deadening from the Huggett is almost as good as the Tanto. The Huggett has a fine pieceof screen wrapped with a thin piece of foam. Nothing more. I also shot it with no silencer and it is very loud. Like a .22 pistol loud. By the way the thread size on the end of your barrel is 10mm x1. An unusual size we normally do not encounter here. I had to use a slip joint pliers with a thick piece of leather to protect the silencer. Good luck. Nick

I'll try the heat gun and leather trick. I have a neil clague for it and it really makes a difference, but I'd like to keep the contour as short as possible when hunting in the woods.

I remember someone posting awhile back that they put plastic bottle caps inside the factory Hugget moderator and it really reduced the decibel level. Something to experiment with I guess. My Contour Elite S6 did not come with a moderator so I just bought a DonnyFL Tanto moderator and it works really well and keeps the length short. I also have a Neil Clague LDC which is 8 inches in length and also works great but too long.
