Brocock Sniper XR .22 pellet testing

Had some decent weather today so I thought I’d test some pellets with my Sniper but some background first. I experienced some regulator creep a few weeks ago. I was running my reg at 160 bar to get 880 with 18s but when I topped my tank up to 250 bar the next morning the reg would creep up over 200 bar. I called AOA since my Sniper XR was still under warranty and they suggested I send it back for inspection. By the time they received the rifle the reg had creeped up to 240 bar so I felt relieved that I wasn’t imagining things. They returned my rifle a few days ago and the work order said they had rebuilt the regulator and installed new seals. Now my reg is set (AND) holds steady at 140 bar with 18’s averaging 877. Kudos to the repair department folks at AOA.

So I mounted my SWFA 6X scope and zeroed my scope at 30 yards. Then I stretched it out to 50 for the following pellet testing. Weather was calm to a swirling 3-ish MPH and the rifle quickly revealed which pellets it likes best. All were 10 shot groups. I also found it interesting how the Hades grouped at 7:00 on both targets.

Really good shooting at 6x.

The bulls were a bid hard to see at 50 and I was using hash mark hold overs which didn't help either. I could have probably shot some better groups had I used a higher magnification scope. I just like this 6x for hunting because its light, bright and usually all I need for pests out to 100. I've used a 10X for hunting before but its a lot more "shaky" standing and shooting from a trigger stick. I might try a variable power one of these days if I can find a light weight one.

AoA does a great job with warranty repairs! Those are some nice groups and your gun/barrel definitely likes both AA weights and Redesigned! Enjoy shooting it.

AOA have always treated me right with the utmost in professionalism. They are a class act.

My rifle does seem to like the AA pellets but I won’t give up on the MRD’s if I put on a higher power scope. This rifle is my primary hunter for now.
