Just tuned my Sniper XR trigger this past weekend and tweaked it yesterday.
Just tuning back and forth with the first and second stage I was able to go from the factory 2.5 pound pull to a consistent 1.5 pound pull.
I shot 1000 PRS with a stock savage accu trigger at a little over a pound and the Brocock is right in there. Not quite as nice but very passable.
Took some work but I ended with a nice smooth first stage take up, a hard wall, and a clean break second stage.
It’s a balancing act between the 1st and 2nd stages for sure, and the point at which the trigger pull lightens on the second stage is indeed a very small adjustment. To far past the ideal point and the trigger begins to get heavier again. I was also having trouble with the second stage having a little creep to it. It was like I could get the light pull with a little creep or no creep and a heavier pull. Also, if you take out too much of the first stage the trigger would again get heavier. Like I said, balancing act.
After lots of tinny tiny adjustments I finally got it dialed in.
Also had to put some blue loctite on the safety screw once I got that adjusted. It kept working it self out. I was surprised how sensitive the safety adjustment was. Again there was a sweet spot. To far one direction or the other and the safety would stop working.
