If that trigger assembly is the one I remember, the safety is a simple mechanical block of trigger movement. The adjustment at the front of trigger assembly determines the amount of movement allowed, and when properly adjusted, there should be virtually no movement. If you feel no movement, but increased pressure on the trigger releases it, then the sear engagement is set with inadequate overlap, which is the rear adjustment. Again, this is from memory of a Brocock rifle I had several years ago, and this might be a different trigger design.
