Brocock/BRK Brocock XR Sniper in 22cal... tuning question

I was thinking of tuning my Brocock XR Sniper in 22 to shoot 24gr at 850-890 fps but to do so would have to increase the regulator pressure up and hammer spring or should I leave as is. It's shooting 18.1gr ok but not great. I know brocock says to leave everything as is from the factory but just wondering how many guys tuned there guns to shoot 24gr. Also does the bottle have to degassed or does this have the value in the bottle where you can just unscrew the bottle from the gun????
Thanks

You don’t have to degas the bottle to adjust your regulator. Simply make notes on your reg. and HS settings before proceeding. Then you can always dial her back down. You’ll have to remove the stock and you will see. Loosen that hex head bolt, before adjusting your regulator.

Check out this thread, which is what I did; the first post describes it nicely... Good luck.

Here’s an old screenshot I have about tuning the HS adjuster on the Sniper (Bantam) XR. I have the same gun (.22 cal) and I used to shoot various 21-25 grain slugs out of mine. I had the reg at 155 bar and if I remember, I cranked the HS in 1 full turn maybe? It was super accurate out to about 120 yards at those settings with almost any slug I used. Oh, and if you’re going to LOWER your reg pressure you DO need to de-gas the gun first. Going Up is no problem.

You don’t need to degass the bottle, simply dry fire a shot with the screwdriver already in the reg adjuster slot and lower the pressure… I lowered the pressure on mine like described with “zero” issue. Check out this thread for reference… First post…

and I quote the method described and I used successfully…

To lower reg pressure I find it easier to use the following method, cock gun, insert screwdriver into regulator adjustment slot and apply slight CW pressure, fire gun and for a split second screw will turn in easily. To increase pressure just screw CCW.”

Okay, cool…..thanks man. I always heard that you had to de-gas it to lower it. I thought that was the case with all the Huma regs. If I ever need to lower mine again I’ll just follow those directions!👍
