BSA BSA Airsporter mk6

Given an Airsporter mk 6 this weekend, lovely looking rifle for sure..rusty barrel with some surface pitting but nothing too bad..rear sight broken, elevation wheel missing, windage screw snapped inside of rear sight block, the V or viewing notch missing.. apart from that it's doing well for years old..
Blank fired once to make sure it worked, no air escaping from pellet feed tap, it has a nice loud SNAP sound.
Ok, so what should i do with the rusty barrel? I dont want to spend more than its worth but would like to smarten it up.
I don't know how much they sell for either.
I can see a complete rear sight is around
£30 but at this stage should I forget that and fix a scope or something else?
Any advice is much appreciated.
Cheers

Don't dry fire it again!
You don't see very many of those here in the US. I'd say the majority of Airsporters we see are Stutzens. Mk6 is the last mark before the RB2 (Gamo) rotary loading tap.
Sights from Mercurys and Airsporters will fit. So plentiful in UK.
The Mk6 is a far cry from the beautifully built Mk1 and 2.
If you want to mount a scope you need a set of rings like these for the correct height.
I don't think they're available in the UK but I know there is a clone available.
BKL and Sportsmatch offer 14mm rings but they're too high.
