BSA R10 mk2 bigger bottle? And huma regulator

I was curious if there is a direct fit replacement bottle for my bsa r10 that is bigger than the factory buddy bottle. And I'm looking for a huma regulator but the only place I found them at there set up for sub 12fe r10's. And is there a usa seller or do I got one order from across the pond? Thanks. Feel free to add anymore idea for mods to do to the r10 .22

I think I remember reading that the RAW cf bottles fit or can be made to fit.

That gun comes regulated already so why would you want to add a huma if the reg isn't broken?

Installing aftermarket regulators isn't always as simple as people think. They often require further tuning to get everything working in harmony so you can receive some benefit for the effort. Even then, there is no guarantee that performance will be better than the factory reg. it might even be worse.

Depending on the model of reg, it might invalidate your warranty too. I would make sure you have spoken to someone who has installed the specific reg on your gun before to get a sense of what sort of results to expect and the effort involved in getting there.

Usually, the guns that benefit from adding aftermarket regulators are guns with no regulators....

If you want useful suggestions for mods to improve your gun, you need to provide some baseline data such as a shot string and some 50 yard groups. Depending on what those look like, recommendations could range from leave it alone to replace the barrel or send it in for a tune etc.

"Dairyboy"The factory regs from BSA have been known to be junk! Mine has creep and first shot after sitting awhile will be 60-70fps faster than the others. Talking to Motorhead the Huma is the way to go on these and that's the reason Huma made one for a gun that's already regulated as they have alot of problems as is.
The one I tried was good but either way, it is always better to check if you have a problem before fixing it.

The problem you describe seems to be fairly common with a lot of guns. I've seen threads with that issue here for wildcats and Vulcans too. It definitely isn't on every one though. It could also occur on an after-market reg - so it is an issue that you could create as well as solve.

As the goal here is more shots per fill from an otherwise accurate rifle that is already regulated, the obvious thing to try first is adjusting the power to find it's most efficient level.

Sometimes reducing the power a little can make a meaningful improvement in the shot count. The most common (and easiest) method is adjusting the hammer spring tension. Some guns have an adjuster for this, on guns that don't people trim the spring or replace it with a lighter or heavier one. If there is too much tension in the hammer spring for the reg setting then the result is wasted air.

More advanced users sometimes adjust the valve spring and reg setting but if you don't know what you are doing, I would recommend sending it to a tuner (like Ernest) and ask them to tune for more shots.

In any scenario, you can't do anything without a chronograph. They aren't expensive and you can't know if anything is working right without one and you wouldn't be able to install any new parts either.

Guys, fat chance that the RAW bottle does not fit.
I've bought one for my Boss, with the idea to swap the valves, but the RAW bottle I received did not have the needed M18x1.5 thread.
Dangerous fact is that the FX valve actually CAN be attached in the RAW bottle, but it was way too loose. I can only imagine that some people who don't have the knowledge (with all due respect) would have tightened it anyway, and pressurize the bottle.
If that is the case, I'm almost sure the bottle's thread will be stripped, and the valve will be blown out of the bottle.... So be aware.
Luxfer bottles as used on Theobens and FX's have M18x1.5mm threads, Evanix and talon tunes' 480cc CF bottles do have M18x1.5 thread.

zebraThis guy did what you were asking about:

Drop him a PM and he'll probably be happy to tell you what you need to know.

As far as I can see, the valve thread which connects the buddy bottle to the gun is the same for the RAW and the BSA (G3/8)
In that case, the RAW cf bottle might indeed be usable, because it is a direct fit, and the valve assy doesn't have to be swapped in between bottles.
The interal thread of the RAW cf bottle I had bought was definitely not M18x1.5, hence my precaution☺

I decided to rechrony the gun today and worked much better must have needed breaking in still when I chronied last. 10 shots with less than 15fps spread with 10.34 JSBs at 928fps avg. 10 shots with 8gr Polymags at 995avg about 18fps spread. Both sub MOA at 25yds. It is shooting alittle hot for my liking usually prefer the 860fps range for 10.34gr so will likely down tune it some and see how it goes
