Tuning Bsa r10 se .22 tuning

This has been a fun gun to tune! Factory it shot jsb 25.4 mrd’s at 730 fps and 18.1gr at 830fps. First steps I did were this:

machined the valve face from tapered to flat

peek poppet 2mm stem

opened up the return spring face holes

light return spring

peek hammer ( steel striker stem)

ported the barrel to .188

huma reg at 140 bar

This resulted in 25.4 mrd’s at 835 and 18.1gr at 940. BUT hammer is too heavy for this spring combo. Ive got some other springs and will take alot of weight out of the hammer on monday. Anyhow, I also made it compatible to use the 700mm fx liner with a carbon fiber shroud. Leaving the tune where its at, 25.4gr came in at 955fps. Perfect! Thats what I was after. Shot count right now sucks at 18 shots from 230bar to 140 bar. Once I get the hammer and spring combo under control Im confident on 20 shots. My goal was 45-50fpe for 2 mags and Im close! Quick 50 yard test shows real promise with the 25.4gr and the fx superior heavy slug liner. I’ll get some pics up when its done.

Ok I know its no where near as cool as an m3 impact! But still kinda neat what you can do with a little tuning. But I ended up using the factory short barrel and shroud/silencer. With a 20 gram hammer Im getting one hole groups at 50 yards with 25.4 MRD’s. I also shortened the factory spring, and bored the factory probe to .188. Its now at 40fpe on the dot for 30 smooth and quiet shots. A gain of 11fpe and keeping the shot count the same. Its quieter, smoother, zero hammer bounce, and more powerful 👍

Played with the 700mm superior today. Made 50 fpe and very accurate with 23gr .217 nsa slugs. Only good for 2 mags ( 20 shots). After shot 23 it falls off the reg. A 480cc bottle would prob get me close to 50 shots and that would be perfect.

Wow does the the fx .22 superior slug heavy liner LOVE jsb 25.4 monster redesign’s. 960fps and it is just boring at 80 yards. Best group this Am was a little under 3/8” for 10 shots worst group just over 1”. Whats intresting is I have zero support on the liner. Its supported for about 2” at the breech and 1” at the muzzle and thats it. No carbon sleeve, no orings, nothing. Was not expecting that!
