BSA BSA R12 XLX Pro

Looks like the US Spec version of the BSA R12 CLX Pro is finally here! https://bsaairguns.com/product/r12-xlx-pro-pcp-pellet-rifle/ .25 in stock and .22 should be in soon according to the email I received from BSA last week. The numbers look good and I am looking forward to seeing some reviews come in but I am expecting good things! It's on my short list of guns I must have but don't need for sure lol!

Very pretty guns, but is it worth the price difference over the standard R12? I know AoA has/had them on sale for awhile around $750.

I've owned 3 BSAs, all were the SE line. Good guns, I didn't like the triggers though. Tuning wasn't the easiest on them either. They suffered from wide shot spreads I couldn't really work out.

These new ones are regulated so that should help.

I have the newer R10 SE .22 from AOA and the trigger on mine is great.. Its regulated and very consistent and accuracy hangs right with my Crown MK2 which if Im doing my part will shoot little finger tip size 5 shot groups at 32 yds.
I thought I had read that they werent made to be tuned BSA advised to leave them as they came, may be wrong on that. The only thing Im not wild about is the weight/thickness of stock. The bolt action on mine has slicked up to be very easy to cock, dont even think about it anymore.
I would like to have the new side lever R12 XLX Sporter in .177 or .25.
I had all my chrony data on my newer ph then the app freaked out and tried to reload app and lost it all. Will have to redo it it.

The 1st stage on the Ultra was super long no matter how I adjusted it. Once it hit the wall, it would break clean. It was just too much travel on that initial pull.

As for the tuning, I had my scorpion doing 52 fpe in 22 cal with only boring out the transfer port. Had only 14 shots in it then. When I went back to lower power, in the 30 fpe range, the spread was super wide.

The ultra was too loud, even with a good moderator. I think the noise was the hammer smack and air blast coming from under the magazine. It's open under there when the hammer is back, which is a PITA if a pellet somehow got in there.

Well Doc I just went and chronied a few shot strings and I was sort of right but mostly wrong, I must of been thinking of my Dreamline. 1st shot string was like 39 spread and 12 S.D... then the next 3 10 shot strings were all like 15 spread 4 S.D. and 19 spread and 5 S.D. (2 of these) so I cant say its super consistent and the S.D. could be lower for a 1300.00 gun.. but it is very accurate even out to 60 yds on my know your limits spinners, only one I usually have trouble with is the smallest one.
My trigger does have a long 1st stage((feels like nothing) but hits 2nd stage wall and breaks at a avg of 1# 13oz(just checked) which for me squirrel hunting is about perfect. I cant hunt with a 1# trigger at least not up in the trees leaning back.
