Been thinking about doing a refurbish on my bsa .22 supersport but I was looking at it and I'm not quite sure how to get the spring assembly apart can anyone link some literature or s service manual with tolerances and parts? I have talked to bsa and they seem unwilling to help.

Is it a UK or Spanish Tube?
If it's a UK gun you just need to make a U shaped jig that goes over the cross pin at the rear to relieve the pressure on the pin at the rear and drift it out. If you're just replacing the spring thats all you need to do. If your goin to take the piston out you need to remove the Maxirail by compressing it into the tube and then drift it back. You'll then need to remove the piston which requires you to push the piston sear down or you'll need to take the trigger parts out. Its not easy to get that sear down. Reassembly of the trigger is a big pain so just make sure you take lots of pics.

I actually have no idea if it's a UK or Spanish tube. I saw a video showing a U shaped tool to compress the spring, but the back of the tube has a completely round cap on the end. I don't see any way to gain access to the spring with a u shaped tool. I need to replace the piston seal it has lost tons of velocity.

Take a pictue of your trigger and Ill tell you.
You can either use a spring compressor or a buffer on the tool.
You need to buffer the U shaped tool/jig into the action to relieve pressure on it. Put the buffer under tool and press the action into it to take pressure off the crosspin and drift it out. Once the pin is out the spring will come out.
If you have a spring compressor just use it to push the jig into the action to take the pressure off.

I still havent gotten the piston out I'm not sure why it wont come out. It seems like the scope mount is holding it in the cylinder not sure how to get to the next step

Ya, you need to compress the maxi rail andtap it rearward with a block of wood. Use two quick grip clamps to compress into the action.

Worked like a charm. I have sanded and stained the stock I am trying to re blue the barrel and action and it is not going well. Its streaky and not dark enough.

Glad to hear. What condition was it in when you got it? Just some feckling on the blueing and low power? They're nice guns and def workhorses.

I wish I had the disposable income I used to have. I’d be buying up better quality airguns. I feel once I get done tuning my cheapos the biggest difference between a top airgun manufacturer and them is the nice blueing. You’ll have to post pics of you go through with having yours redone.

The bluing is mostly non existant the stock was pretty well stripped. Gun wouldn't build pressure enough to propel a pellet. The stock had taken stain and poly extremely well. Just trying to get a bluing that looks good.
