BSA Ultra SE in the USA

So I have been thinking about the BSA Ultra SE. It looks like a great little gun at a fair price. The only issue I seem to be running into is getting parts/upgrades in the states. I have contacted Rat Works and they don't do any export. I contacted Carl at Airtech, but have read bad reviews. I really like his carbon shroud. I have also contacted Airfective, love the 2 stage shroud, but no response yet. I have also reached out to DonnyFL who recommended John Hagan, no response yet. Does anyone in the states know someone that would make a killer shroud and moderator for the Ultra, plus do a full tune/polishing of the gun? I want a stupid quiet tack driver...

Also open to substitutes, but I would like 12 to 20 ft pounds of energy.

Any thoughts, comments, or suggestions are welcome.

I inquired about that gun a bit ago. Got nothing but great feedback. I will update this post with pictures & ideas for you.

OK. This is a Carbon Fiber tube. Can get from Amazon in different sizes. Make sure you know the internal diameter and external diameter. This is important as you really don't want it larger than the Barrel or the Breech block, will look ugly.

This is a DonnyFL Tanto, the Koi may work too, or a larger diameter one if it doesn't touch the barrel. If you prefer the look, you can go with the cone end cap and give ti a more tapered look.

Put a little tape around the barrel near the front, and another near the back.

Carbon fiber being installed. You want it to fit almost tight around the tape, not too much. Mines can roll freely.

Front of barrel (in my case LDC adapter, don't think you need this) after installation.

LDC installed, job finished. Pat yourself in back and post it for us to see it.

I originally got this idea from @centercut and just tweaked it to my liking a little. You can do the same. I hope it is of use to you.

OK. Post updated. From everything I have read about the gun it should be very accurate from the box and good to go unless it has a problem from factory or second hand. I personally would go for the 12fpe .177 model. Matter of fact, it is in my short list for a 12fpe PCP I want, but waiting on some other models to fall in place. I think I scratched off that WC3 because of the magazine, I prefer the old style. Only thing I really do not like is the encased magazine system. Would prefer something open and even single shot tray.

Good luck in your project, keep us posted.

I have one in .177. I wound up putting a reg in it, larger TP, lighter hammer spring and a HDD. I have it set to shoot 8.4gr pellets 830fps for 35 shots. I have a XTX shroud and the gun is silent. It is impossible for a gun to be more accurate. My dad was cleaning off starlings at 70-80 yards with it yesterday while his neighbors were in the swimming pool none the wiser. He single loads his with a flip out device that wasn’t cheap.

Vetmx,

Who did all of the work and where did you buy the components? I actually have seen a post where you showed your Ultra, that almost exactly what I am wanting to do.

I have been looking all over for a good shroud, but it seems like they are hard items to find.

I did it myself. There were some obstacles like drilling out the anti-tamper plug and having to order everything from overseas. But it was worth it. Building the HDD was made easier because my gun had the aluminum block already.
