BSA Ultra SE & Reg. Install?

I dont have the ultra se I have a scorpion se which is basically the same thing just a slightly longer air tube and barrel. The HUMA screw on regulator does not change the look of the rifle. The piece the regulator replaces is exactly the same size and color matches perfectly so you couldnt tell if my scorpion se has a regulator or not by looking at it. My scorpion se was really accurate even un regulated but after the reg it just sticks pellets into the same hole shot after shot for the whole string. Before the regulator the pellets would stack but it was a larger hole due to more velocity variation especially at the beginning and end of the bell curve. Unless you detune it slightly you should expect only a small increase in shot count. If you had it tuned to 25 fpe before the reg then tuned it to 15 fpe you would see a decent increase in shot count. I could be wrong on the shot count cause its been awhile since I regulated mine. Mine is .177 and I detuned it as soon as I regulated it from about 20 fpe to 15 fpe but I believe I went from 30 ish shots to 45 - 55 shots. Thats just a guess as I dont keep track anymore I just shoot and shoot until its ready for another fill.

Pretty hard not to catch your eye as it flashes on the top of the screen on this forum. I have one and I did install a reg. It got an incredible amount of shots at around 650fps in .177. After a few years I wanted 800-850fps with 8.4gr pellets. I installed the reg, drilled out the anti-tamper plug so I could get to the hammer spring. Ordered a larger TP, backed the hammer spring way off and started tuning. I settled in on 830fps with 8.4’s. It now only gets around 35 shots but they are crazy accurate. I put a shroud kit on it and finally build an HDD. It just goes “click” now and critters fall from trees. I have Taipans, Edguns and Atamans, but the BSA is the nicest gun I own. Everyone loves it.

Y’all rock! Thanks for all the great info. I did see it up there in the banner, but that’s not what really got my attention. It came across a search for 12fpe .177 guns that may be readily available here.

I noticed the Tactical/Synthetic model is somewhat different than the wood one. More elongated stock on the Tac. Any thoughts on this? I kinda dig both, but can’t decide.

I’m really in no hurry, will wait for a sale, or a used one to become available.
