Buck Rail Moderator

I believe it’s necessary for me to eat some crow. In another thread on AGN I mentioned how I dislike/don’t care for 3D printed stuff.
Last weekend I ordered a Buck Rail moderator for my Diana Chaser CO2 pistol.
It arrived today. It is of course 3D printed but man it really looks good. The OD has the typical hexagon relief pattern.
As I threaded it on to my pistol I figured there would be some wobble or runout as I rotated it. Nope, absolutely perfect. Very impressed and pleased.
Next, I installed a CO2 cartridge and fired off a shot without moderator. Then a shot with. OMG, it’s like Hollywood movie quiet. My wife did’t even know I fired off 25 pellets, she was in kitchen right directly above me. Extremely pleased.
And only $25 shipped.

The threads on the can or the adapter? Thought the adapter was all metal and the can has a metal insert. Unless you have the plastic clamp
I repeat, NO INSERT. I spent 48 years of my life hands on in manufacturing. I know the difference between metallic and non-metallic threads. I assure you nothing in the moderator is metallic. I felt the threads with a fine scratch awl. They are printed. There is no adapter. Moderator screws directly on end of barrel which is steel.

Whoa! I was thinking of my setup🤦‍♂️🤣my bad
Now I'm gunna have to go check mine🤔🧐

While I don't have a picture, my 1/2-20 moderator clearly has a threaded metal insert. I think I had read some time back on his blog or news page, that he had switched from one metal insert type to another. It's entirely possible some models have the metal insert, while others don't.

Edit: Duh. Switching inserts is mentioned on the 1/2-20 page: https://buck-rail.com/product/1-2-20-unf-silencer/
