Interested in doing this with a GoPro I bought to shoot dive videos. Would this setup hold the extra weight OK?

The weight is not the issue here. The issue is that a GoPro has a very wide angle lens and you will have a hard time seeing what you are filming. You could try filming in 4k and then try to zoom-in in post production. Or you could change the lens on the GoPro to a more tele like lens. Probably 6 mm or so.

FYI you can also get prisms quite cheap and build around them. Might be easier in some cases than getting the airsoft prism stuff. Also available in several sizes.

Hi Toku58. Good stuff! I had told my friends last year that i wanted to use my anglesight like this. I actually have a custom lens in my gopro that would allow me to use it in this application. In your post, you mentioned that the hardest part was sanding the tube or bushing. Which piece are you referring to and are you referring to the inner diameter or outter of that piece?

Yes! I can shoot normally. The thing I like about it is that you can zoom in on the shot. Even with the lens mod on the GoPro you can't zoom.

ahh you know that
,coz my action cam can't to digital zoom.
i use resolution 4K and no problem if i crop and zoom with video editor. so clear video.

Nice job. I posted on my Youtube Channel: Eagle View HD a video of a similar mount I made for my Iphone using an Otterbox case. Video shows me shooting some targets with my modified 2240.
