Budget Huntsman Revere

You’ve got some skills with that lathe. For a person like you it costs $658 but for me with out a lathe, it would be an extra $100. Even with that it’s still a good deal for a budget revere.
Did you mod the internals?

Yeah, I have a new valve design for the kral guns that works great with a twin spring debounce hammer. I can anything from under 12fpe in 177 to 150fpe in 357 with this platform.

I’m far from a master tuner but it sounds like your valve has a larger throat and lighter valve spring. I assumed it wasn’t balanced because those usually ain’t good for low power rigs (without extensive mods).

Throat is factory sized. I actually increase the stem size and still get more power and higher shot count with the same hammer spring pressure.

Nice. I never really considered buying a Kral until I read about the work you were doing on them. I foresee a NP-03 in the near future with your new valve. Looking forward to what you come out with next

Deegmil,

My .25 Puncher Jumbo also shoots the JSB Kings at 850 FPS. Pellet on pellet at 60 yds. I did not touch the crown on the 58cm barrel, just polished the hell out of it with .5 grain polishing compound. I don't think barrels come much better than this ...

Do you have consistent 5mm ports throughout, and enough plenum space?

I believe the consistent accuracy in my Jumbo may be attributable to the following combo (together with the barrel):

- 30usd Chinese paintball-adapter setup, set point 125 bar. Part of the secret sauce is the large plenum. The adapter functions similar to the FX plenum extender. I drilled 4 holes thru the inside to enlarge it further. The shot count is 50+, the consistency remarkable.

- ports opened up to 5mm throughout. Oval barrel port, dremel! I had to replace the adjuster. Made one out of an 8mm allen bolt with very simple tools (drill, metal saw, file).

- shorter hammer (removed 2/3 of the nose) + drilled out most of the inside at 8 mm. Twin hammer spring incl one long one (8mm diameter) with some preload to get enough power. In hindsight I might have lightened the hammer a bit less to preserve easier power.

- drilled holes into the muzzle piece to enable venting into the shroud. The 46Eur Czech moderator probably also contributes to accuracy.

- the usual trigger polishing & setting to make it light.

The whole setup balances well. I decided to leave the reg&adapter exposed (for a lighter look, better grip, let the beautiful wood shine ...)

I have less than 650Eur into this beauty, plus 100eur for the 10x fixed magnification scope. No complaints here!
