Yesterday when I was ready to pump my tanks, it happen something that I like to share. I have the auto stop version.
I made the setup as usual, then I connect the power supply cord, first to the wall then to the pump, and the pump turn on immediately, . I realize that the power button was on, since I forgot to turn it off (since is auto shut off can happen), so no worries I turn the pump off. That took like 3 seconds.
I did wait like 20 seconds and turn the pump on, only to realize that it won't start...I repeat the process several times (switching on and off) and just a buzz from the pump, but not working...try it like 2 minutes and nothing, so I decide to take the cover out. When I took the power cable it was almost melt hot, never happend that before...so I took it out, remove the cap, everything was normal, my first thought was...damn, need a new pump. (more than a Year using it).
So I reconnect everything in the right order with the pump off, turn it on and it was working like nothing happend. I fill my tank as usual....
what could happen? maybe an electrician can explain me? was weird...
