few weeks ago i ordered one of these Diana mounts (AOA ) . works ok ? yesterday i ordered a china Amazon copy , delivered today . ($16) planning on doing the 4 corner mod to tighten everything up , let you know later, few days anyway .
Be nice if they made the ZR mounts adjustable for elevation and windage.I just got the ZR as well. Finding it hitting way too high. Crow
Gonna have to shim the front. Or bend your barrel till you have some droop ha ha ha. My 56T/H is same way. I used yellow Teflon tape, the kind meant for gas connections, in front of mine. Per Hector’s instructions.I just got the ZR as well. Finding it hitting way too high. Crow
Great info. Note that those are the older German made mounts. Believe it or not, the newer Chinese ones are generally better out of the box. The mods will still help though.Diana Bullseye ZR ain't what it's cracked up to be -- but there's a fix
I bought one of these Diana Bullseye ZR mounts for my HW97K and then gave up on it after a few tins of pellets because a significant amount of play had developed and I was getting a lot of point-of-aim shift. You'd get a group going-- then whammo, its like you started a whole new group at 1/2"...www.airgunnation.com
That's what I was going to say. Doing it from the side will just bind up the rods where from the top it will just push it down into the groove.you could drill these from the top or even the bottom drill, tap, insert thick felt plug and back with flat bottom grub screw
i wonder if you could gain elevation by having one set of screws from the bottom and the other from the top
these have been on my list of things to buy but it is a long list
ok both the diana and the china Z mount have a lot of play . the Diana seems to hold POI better / not so much with the china one .Mr. Beer
Just a heads up. There's not much material to the sides of the Chinese mount to tap and thread a screw.
One possible solution I was thinking was using JB weld to thicken that area. I haven't tried it as I have limited experience with JB weld. One problem I foresee was that as you tighten the set screw, it might lift up the JB weld layer? ...maybe JB weld a nut to the side? If others have a better solution, please chime in.
Here's the four corner mod on a real Diana not the Chinese mount.
RWS Bullseye ZR (Zero Recoil) Mounts and Improvement
A few have recently asked how I maintain good accuracy using the RWS ZR Bullseye (and clone) mounts. I take no credit for this method. I initially saw these being made by Hector Medina, and his are much more finely executed. Here is what I have done to eliminate the slop in the mechanism...www.airgunnation.com
