Bullseye ZR Mount

Mr. Beer
Just a heads up. There's not much material to the sides of the Chinese mount to tap and thread a screw.
One possible solution I was thinking was using JB weld to thicken that area. I haven't tried it as I have limited experience with JB weld. One problem I foresee was that as you tighten the set screw, it might lift up the JB weld layer? ...maybe JB weld a nut to the side? If others have a better solution, please chime in.

Here's the four corner mod on a real Diana not the Chinese mount.

Will you explain (or provide a link to) the 4 corner mod please @beerthief ?
Thanks
Edward

you drill from the top down on the mount

Great info. Note that those are the older German made mounts. Believe it or not, the newer Chinese ones are generally better out of the box. The mods will still help though.

This company, Vector Optics, makes zero recoil mounts for springers in both 1” and 30mm tube size - and offers dovetail or picatinny/weaver in each. Price is $24.90

I use their adjustable scope rings and really like them. I noticed these zero recoil mounts when I was on their site.

I have a Sportsmatch Dampa mount on my HW97, but they are pricey.

If you sign up for Vecto’s mailing list, they give you 10% off your first order.

you could drill these from the top or even the bottom drill, tap, insert thick felt plug and back with flat bottom grub screw
i wonder if you could gain elevation by having one set of screws from the bottom and the other from the top
these have been on my list of things to buy but it is a long list
That's what I was going to say. Doing it from the side will just bind up the rods where from the top it will just push it down into the groove.

ok , mail delivered . This Mizugiwa / Amazon zero mount seems an ok build , heavier springs but i do not have a high speed camera to see the action in real time . i am thinking of using my heaviest scope , same HW77 and switch mounts
rain just started supposed to last thru the night and maybe noon tomorrow ? il just have to dodge the rain
(the taps are from the top into the sliding portion )
Diana Z mounted on HW97 Athlon scope just to try it
China Z mount now on HW77 with BSA 36 power scope for todays shoot
yes you have to re zero your scope for the higher mount ..

ok both the diana and the china Z mount have a lot of play . the Diana seems to hold POI better / not so much with the china one .
As to the 4 corner repair , i will try to glue a flat plate of brass or aluminum on for a thicker material to drill and thread , wish me luck .
