Burris AR-P.E.P.R. 30mm One-Piece Scope Mount Question

Are any members running this one-piece Burris mount on their airguns? If so which gun and scope pairing are you running? What are your likes and dislikes? I was looking at the quick detach version to place on my Edgun Lelya with a scope with a 44mm objective for the upcoming squirrel season. I’d like some feedback before I seriously consider purchasing this mount. If you have suggestions for comparable or better mounts that have worked for you I’d appreciate suggestions.

I have used dozens of those with the nut clamp and the QD, on AR rifles and some bolt guns with large objective scopes. They are OK but the Burris Signature PEPR QD is significantly better and has up to 40 MOA of adjustment in it. The QD latches on the Signature model are a huge improvement or the gen 1 as well. Additionally, the polymer inserts are much easier on the scope finish. The original PEPR is made from Play Dough extruded aluminum with so-so finish work on it. It looks like it was made by UGE. The Signature PEPR is precision machined with a perfect finish on it. The Signature rings in pairs are also superb. If I had an Edgun I wouldn't want the gen one PEPR on my gun.

@Geezerhood I ordered one of the ones I posted the link to. If I don’t like it for the Edgun I’ll put it on something else or I may return it if the quality looks horrible. I didn’t need added elevation for a close-range gun. I’ve been trying different scopes. I intend to swap out one of my Vector Veyrons for another scope I’d like to try on my Lelya. The one you posted looks svelte! Thanks for the contrasting information. I saw those too and probably would buy one to use on a my Evol or big bore Airgun where I’m taking longer shots on hog, coyote, or deer. Your input is appreciated. Thank you.

You are welcome.

The internal adjustment comes in handy for windage as well. In almost every install I will have some windage tweaking as part of it to keep the reticle centered in the scope. I have had some guns/scopes where I would run out of windage travel well before I had it zeroed, and the Signature rings saved me. Even without the adjustment feature, the Signature rings are a superior ring to almost everything out there in my hands on experience.

Hopefully the PEPR you get will be work well. I have had some that were not true to the rail and would not allow me to use them on some guns.

Ok this mount is heavier than I thought it would be. I got the QD version and I’m gonna have to seriously consider running some rings because the scope I’m going to try out isn’t the lightest either. I don’t think I want to add an extra pound and a half (maybe more) to my Lelya. Then I don’t know how the weight would affect the overall weight distribution of the gun. This is a beefy scope mount. I definitely need to find a much lighter and probably aluminum mount for my Lelya.

Unfortunately the PEPR Signature QD mount is 1.63 ounces heavier at 10.33 ounces. Both are made of aluminum. Most one piece QD aluminum mounts weigh in at 8 ounces or more, the same as the one you have.

The Aero Precision one piece Ultralite mount in 30mm weighs 3.36oz or less in 30mm. It is not QD. Most of the QD mounts I looked at are 8 ounces or more. The Scalarworks LEAP/08 claims to be the lightest QD mount on the market at 5.48 ounces, which is only 3.22 ounces lighter than the Burris PEPR and they are pretty spendy at $439.

I have bought some picatinny rail risers made by Monstrum and they were decent enough. Never tried that mount. On the Aero Precision, it might be too thin if your scope is pretty heavy, but it sure is svelte looking. I wouldn't run one on a 308 for sure, but on PCP gun I would probably give it a shot, just because I know Aero makes quality stuff. Of course if you get it and hate, I will delete this message!

I have a couple of those pepr mounts and they are heavy. They are in my parts drawer. Bought them because they where silly cheap.

I‘ve recently put an athlon 1 piece mount on an impact — well made and very reasonably priced - come in 0 or 20 moa

I have no financial interest with the above vendor but I am a customer.

If you want to go with rings you can’t go wrong with a set from EGW — about the same price

I ordered the Monstrum Ultra Precision offset picatinny airgun mount to try. Hopefully it’ll be a good fit for on my Lelya. If not I’ll find a use for it on something.

@Heavyopp I may send the Burris mount back. I haven’t really looked at it good yet. When I have time to sit down with my new stuff I’ll see what I can pair with what and decide whether I want to keep it or return it. .
